Best-of list

Best Dava Studios alternatives in 2026

Dava Studios sells YouTube thumbnails by weekly volume on a signed agreement: one a week is $295 a month on a 12-month partnership or $395 month to month. Creators who look elsewhere usually want one thumbnail without an agreement, the layered file, or thumbnails that come with the edit. For them our pick is Mark Studios: a single thumbnail is priced in the instant quote, and every monthly plan includes thumbnails, from $750 a month.

How this list works: Mark Studios publishes it and ranks its own service, so this is not an independent review. Every other option’s facts come from its own site, with the date we checked (how we compared). Some Fiverr links here are affiliate links: we may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no cost to you.

Our pick

Mark Studios is the best Dava Studios alternative for most creators.

Dava is built for big channels that commit: a weekly number of thumbnails from a dedicated designer, the lowest rates on a 6- or 12-month agreement that can’t end early, and a sales call before you start. Mark Studios lets you buy one thumbnail at a time, or get them with your edits on a plan you can cancel online.

  • One thumbnail, no agreement. Dava’s cheapest weekly rate, $295, needs a 12-month partnership, which its terms say you can’t cancel early and which it doesn’t refund. At Mark Studios you order a single thumbnail through the instant quote, which shows the price before you pay.
  • The layered file is yours on request. Dava’s terms keep native project files unless you agree otherwise in writing. Ask Mark Studios for the layered source file and you can make your own versions later; A/B versions for Test & Compare come on request too.
  • Thumbnails come with the edit. Every Mark Studios plan includes them: 2 on the $750 Starter plan, 4 with titles and SEO on Growth ($2,000), 8 on Scale ($2,700) and one with every long-form video on Unlimited ($3,500). Each goes through Mark Santos, who has run his own YouTube channel since 2011.

Quick picks.

Pick by what Dava asks of you that you’d rather not give. To skip the agreement, cheapthumbnails, Fiverr, Legiit and Upwork sell one thumbnail at a time. For the smallest bill, Thumbnail Designers is $29 a month for 10. For a strategist on each design, ClickTheory and Clickables. For a designer of your own, post the job on Roster. And if your editor should make the thumbnail too, Tasty Edits, Replayed and Clipmasters sell it beside the edit.

The baseline

What Dava Studios sells, and why creators compare it

Dava Studios is the trading name of Dava Marketing LLC, an editing and thumbnail studio in Orem, Utah, founded in 2019. Its about page lists 51–100 full-time staff and 1,000+ creators served, and its homepage names StarTalk, Jake Paul and JustKass among them. Thumbnails are one of three services, each sold by monthly plan: long-form editing starts at $2,095 a month for one video a week on 12 months, short-form at $795, and thumbnails at $295.

The thumbnail page, read October 25, 2026, prices plans by how many thumbnails you post a week, at three rates depending on the term you sign. One a week is $395 a month month to month, $350 on a 6-month partnership and $295 on 12 months; two a week are $595, $550 or $495; and the Custom card opens at three a week for $795, $750 or $695. Its counter climbs to 50 a week ($7,695 a month month to month) and drops below the weekly plans to 1 or 2 thumbnails a month: $150 or $250 month to month, $95 or $195 on 12 months. Every plan lists a 24–48 hour average turnaround, unlimited revisions, a thumbnail tracker, quality checks and Slack and Asana, and every “Schedule a call” button opens a booking calendar rather than a checkout.

The FAQ says the same designer handles every thumbnail, that the finished thumbnails are yours, and that Dava designs several variations for YouTube’s Test & Compare; it doesn’t say whether those variations count toward your weekly number, though the two-a-week card is pitched at channels “testing two thumbnails per video”. The terms, effective September 11, 2026, add what the cards leave out: native project files stay with Dava unless agreed in writing, payments are non-refundable, and a 6- or 12-month partnership can’t be cancelled before its term ends. Its pages also disagree with each other. The services page says thumbnails start at $295 a month, but the Custom counter goes down to $95, the figure in the thumbnail page’s own structured data; and a feature list on that page promises “24 hour turnaround”, while the plan cards and FAQ say 24–48 hours on average and the terms call every turnaround a target, not a guarantee.

Where Dava is hard to match is volume with continuity: one designer on your channel, a tracker for every request and up to 50 thumbnails a week, with testimonials from channels such as NotJustBikes, who says Dava has made their thumbnails for four years. Its Trustpilot profile showed 17 reviews and a TrustScore of 4.5 on October 25, 2026. Creators who compare it usually want something a partnership doesn’t give: one thumbnail with no agreement, the layered file, a short commitment at a fair rate, or thumbnails that arrive with the edit.

Where Dava Studios is strong

  • A 24–48 hour average turnaround and unlimited revisions
  • One designer on your channel, with a tracker, Slack and Asana
  • Volume from 1 a month up to 50 a week

Why creators compare it

  • The best rates need a 6- or 12-month agreement that can’t end early
  • Layered project files aren’t included unless agreed in writing
  • No refunds, and every plan starts with a sales call
  • Its pages disagree on the starting price and the turnaround

Before you leave Dava Studios: a checklist.

Drawn from Dava’s terms and conditions (effective September 11, 2026) and its FAQ, read October 25, 2026. The term you signed decides most of it.

  1. Find out which term you’re on

A month-to-month plan ends at the close of the period you’ve paid for once you email support. A 6- or 12-month partnership can’t be cancelled early, and the monthly payments left in the term stay due even if you stop sending requests.

  2. Give notice 14 days before a committed term ends

On a 6- or 12-month partnership, notice that arrives at least 14 days before the end stops it rolling into month-to-month billing at your current rate. Notice that arrives later doesn’t stop the roll-over.

  3. Use the thumbnails you’ve paid for

Payments aren’t refunded, and the terms rule out refunds or credits for partial months, unused videos or unused revisions. Queue the videos you still need covered, including old uploads that could use a refresh, before the paid term runs out.

  4. Download every final file before access ends

The terms say cancelled accounts lose access to project files once the billing term ends. Save each finished thumbnail, and any photos Dava banked for future thumbnails, to your own drive first.

  5. Ask for layered files in writing

Native project files belong to Dava unless agreed in writing, so a new designer can’t open the old PSDs by default. If you want to keep editing the templates, ask before you cancel; otherwise brief the next designer from the exported thumbnails.

  6. Don’t hire your Dava designer directly

For 12 months after you leave, the terms bar you from hiring anyone who worked on your account, with a placement fee of six months of that person’s pay. Dava can also show your thumbnails in its marketing until you email to revoke it.

Every alternative, set against Dava Studios.

None for one thumbnail; plans month to month, cancel online

Compared with Dava Studios: you can buy one thumbnail without signing anything, and on a plan the thumbnails come with the edit. Every thumbnail goes through Mark Santos, who has made videos for his own YouTube channel since 2011. You send the title, a sharp photo or frame and a reference or two; the instant quote shows the price before you pay; and you get 3 revision rounds, A/B versions for Test & Compare when you plan to test, and the layered source file if you ask, where Dava’s terms keep native project files unless agreed in writing. If you upload every week, our plans page (read October 25, 2026) puts thumbnails in every tier: Starter ($750 a month) is one long-form edit, four shorts and 2 thumbnails; Growth ($2,000) is four YouTube videos with 4 thumbnails, their titles and SEO, and 8 Shorts; Scale ($2,700) has 8 thumbnails beside four long-form edits and 24 shorts; and Unlimited ($3,500) puts a thumbnail on every long-form video. All four run month to month and cancel online with no fee, while Dava’s lower rates need a 6- or 12-month partnership that can’t end early. A month you don’t record can be paused, and anything unused carries over one month.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • One thumbnail at a time, priced before you pay, with no agreement
  • The layered source file on request as a paid add-on
  • Thumbnails, edits and Shorts on one month-to-month plan

Good to know

  • Dava is faster: 24–48 hours on average, against 5–7 business days standard here (rush at checkout)

None: order by order

Compared with Dava Studios: there’s no partnership to sign and nothing to cancel, because you pick a designer gig by gig. Fiverr’s hiring guide puts the average thumbnail design job at $18 and its average delivery at 4 days, with faster delivery from some sellers for a fee, and checkout adds a 5.5% service fee to each payment, plus $3.50 on any order under $200. Each gig sets its own revisions, extra versions and whether the PSD comes back, so read the package before you order. What you give up is Dava’s continuity: no tracker, no quality check, and a new brief whenever your seller is booked. Disclosure: Mark Studios sells on Fiverr too.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • Order a thumbnail only when a video needs one
  • Public reviews on every seller
  • Each gig shows its price, delivery time and revisions before you order

Cons against Dava Studios

  • Vetting, briefing and a consistent look are on you
  • A service fee on every payment, plus $3.50 under $200

Compared with Dava Studios: a much smaller marketplace where each seller lists a fixed-price thumbnail service. Its YouTube thumbnail category showed seven services on October 25, 2026, starting at $8, $8.99, $15, $20 and $25, with filters for Legiit Checked, ID Verified and Up & Coming Talent sellers. Delivery, revisions, test versions and files are each seller’s call. Buying needs no subscription; its pricing page lists the free Marketplace plan, for buying and selling, with a 15% fee per sale. It suits a creator who wants to test a designer for the price of a coffee, not a channel that needs Dava’s weekly volume.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • Thumbnail services from $8
  • Filters for checked and ID-verified sellers

Cons against Dava Studios

  • Seven thumbnail listings, a small pool next to Fiverr or Upwork
  • Terms and quality change from seller to seller

Compared with Dava Studios: you hire a designer of your own instead of renting one. Roster is a hiring platform for creators: you post the job, its AI recommends thumbnail makers and ranks the applicants, and you message them directly. One job post is $150 with no subscription; Pro is $250 a month for 2 posts and a hiring challenge, and Max $450 for 5, and Roster takes no commission on the hire. Rate, turnaround, revisions and file handover are then whatever you agree with the designer. Dava’s terms bar you from hiring the designer who worked on your account for 12 months after you leave; a designer you find on Roster works for you from the first message. Google’s AI Mode named Roster beside Dava when we asked it for the best YouTube thumbnail design service.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • A designer who works for you, at a rate you set together
  • No commission on the hire
  • Ranked applicants and hiring challenges on Pro

Cons against Dava Studios

  • $150 before you’ve hired anyone
  • No studio quality check or cover; managing the designer is your job

Hourly or fixed-price contract

Compared with Dava Studios: you write the contract, so the term, the turnaround and the file handover are whatever you agree. Upwork’s hiring page estimates $25–$100 for a single custom thumbnail, $75–$250 for a set of 2–3 concepts to test, and $200–$800 a month for an ongoing thumbnail queue, with 1–2 revision rounds and the editable source file if you ask for it; it puts graphic designers’ rates at $15–$35 an hour. On the Basic plan you pay a 5% marketplace fee on each payment (3% for eligible US clients paying from a checking account) plus a one-time contract fee of $0.99–$14.99. That monthly band is the nearest match to a Dava plan, without the 6- or 12-month lock.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • An ongoing queue estimated at $200–$800 a month
  • Source files and test concepts written into the contract
  • Hourly or fixed-price, your choice

Cons against Dava Studios

  • Prices are Upwork’s estimates; each freelancer sets their own
  • Marketplace and contract fees on top of the designer’s rate

Compared with Dava Studios: priced per thumbnail, at about a tenth of Dava’s lowest monthly rate. One custom thumbnail is $10. Extra variations for A/B testing cost $3 for the first, $2 for the second and $1 each after that; same-day delivery is $5 more, against up to 5 days normally. Standard orders include up to 2 revision requests, or unlimited for $5 an order. You place and track each job in its portal, and its FAQ says the finished thumbnail is yours to use once it’s paid for; the layered file isn’t mentioned. The work comes from approved freelance makers paid a share of each order, so expect less continuity than Dava’s one designer per channel.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • $10 a thumbnail, and $3 for a test variation
  • Same-day delivery for $5
  • No plan or agreement

Cons against Dava Studios

Compared with Dava Studios: fewer thumbnails, with more strategy behind each one. Its homepage lists Codie Sanchez, Noah Kagan and My First Million among the channels it designs for. Design alone is $199 a credit, and ideation plus design is $299, with 3–4 concept sketches, unlimited revisions and a strategist alongside the designer; both need at least four credits. Add-ons are $99 each: an extra A/B thumbnail (“only available for the Pro package”), title copywriting with 12 options, or a rush inside 24 hours. Its own pages disagree on speed: the pricing section calls 48 to 72 hours typical, while the FAQ says 48 hours, excluding weekends, from the final video.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • Concept sketches and a strategist on the $299 tier
  • A/B thumbnails and title copywriting as add-ons
  • Refreshes for thumbnails on older videos

Cons against Dava Studios

  • Four credits minimum: $796 even for design only

An A/B variant for Test & Compare is $15, a title pack of 12 options $25 and a rush inside 24 hours $20. It promises “no retainers you cannot exit” and keeps client channels anonymous, so unlike Dava’s named creators, you can’t look its examples up on YouTube.

Clipmasters’ Scale plan is $1,897 a month, $1,707 a month billed quarterly or $1,581 billed yearly, for unlimited editing requests and revisions, a dedicated editor, an account manager and Slack. Thumbnail creation is a $109 add-on that delivers two designed options per video request, enough for one Test & Compare run. There’s no contract, the first 14 days carry a money-back guarantee, and signing up starts with a discovery call, as Dava’s plans do.

Pros against Dava Studios

  • Two thumbnail options per request
  • Editing and thumbnails on one plan

You’re invoiced monthly for what you ordered, which it says is not a subscription, and you talk to your editors directly. Edits include an hour of free revision work, then $35 an hour; the page sets no revision or turnaround terms for thumbnails.

Pros against Dava Studios

Method and disclosure.

We publish this list, and our own studio is the pick. Mark Studios also sells on Fiverr. Nobody paid to be listed. Our row and card show our published plan prices; a single thumbnail is priced in the instant quote.

Who’s on it
Thumbnail services a creator weighing Dava Studios is likely to consider, each with a published price or a plain way to buy: per-thumbnail and per-pack studios, a thumbnail subscription, editing services that sell thumbnails beside the edit, and four places to hire a freelancer, including Roster, which Google’s AI Mode names next to Dava for “best YouTube thumbnail design service”. AI thumbnail generators and do-it-yourself tools are left out.
What we checked
Each provider’s own pricing page and FAQ on October 25, 2026, rendered in a browser, with toggles, tiers and counters opened where prices sit behind them (Dava’s month-to-month, 6- and 12-month rates and its Custom counter, Replayed’s Senior and Junior+ tiers, Clipmasters’ monthly, quarterly and yearly billing) and for pages that block automated reads (Fiverr, Upwork, Trustpilot). Dava’s thumbnail page, services page, FAQ, terms, about page and Trustpilot profile were read the same day. Where a provider’s own pages disagree, we say so. Prices change, so confirm before you buy.
How it’s ordered
Mark Studios first, as our pick. The rest are grouped by how you pay: marketplaces and hiring platforms, per thumbnail or per pack, a monthly thumbnail subscription, then editing services that add thumbnails, alphabetical inside each group and not ranked.

Our list of the best YouTube thumbnail design services sets studios, marketplaces and subscriptions side by side, Dava Studios included. For what YouTube says about click-through rate, and why its Test & Compare picks a winner by watch time rather than clicks, see our thumbnail and CTR statistics. Count your uploads, then price the thumbnails.

Note how many videos go out in a normal month and which ones you’ll test with two or three versions. The instant quote prices a single thumbnail before you pay, and every monthly plan includes thumbnails with the edit.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best Dava Studios alternatives?

For most creators, Mark Studios: one thumbnail at a time with no agreement, priced in the instant quote, or thumbnails inside every monthly plan from $750, with the layered file on request as a paid add-on and Mark on every design. For the lowest price, cheapthumbnails ($10) or Thumbnail Designers ($29 a month for 10). For a strategist on each thumbnail, ClickTheory ($250 for 8) or Clickables ($199 a credit). To hire a designer of your own, Upwork or Roster. If your editor should make it too, Tasty Edits ($43), Replayed ($89) or Clipmasters ($109).

How much does Dava Studios cost?

On its thumbnail page (October 25, 2026), 1 thumbnail a week is $395 a month month to month, $350 on a 6-month partnership and $295 on 12 months; 2 a week is $595, $550 or $495; and 3 a week is $795, $750 or $695. Its Custom counter runs from 1 a month ($150, $125 or $95) up to 50 a week ($7,695 a month month to month). Every plan is billed monthly, needs a signed agreement and starts with a booked call, and payments aren't refunded.

Does Dava Studios require a contract?

Yes. Every plan has an agreement, on a month-to-month, 6-month or 12-month term. Month to month renews each month until you cancel by email before the period ends. A 6- or 12-month partnership can't be cancelled early, the remaining payments stay due, and notice at least 14 days before the term ends stops it rolling into month to month. Access to project files ends with your billing term, so download everything first.

Do Dava Studios thumbnails come with A/B versions and source files?

A/B versions, yes: its FAQ says it designs multiple variations for YouTube's Test & Compare, though it doesn't say whether they count toward your weekly number. Source files, not by default: its terms say the finished thumbnails are yours, but native project files stay with Dava unless agreed in writing. Mark Studios sends the layered source file on request as a paid add-on and designs A/B versions for uploads you'll test.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Dava Studios?

Yes. cheapthumbnails charges $10 a thumbnail, Legiit listings start at $8, Fiverr's average thumbnail job is $18 plus its fee, and Thumbnail Designers is $29 a month for 10. ClickTheory's 8 for $250 works out at about $31 each with no term. Dava's lowest price is $95 a month for 1 thumbnail a month, and only on a 12-month partnership.

Is Dava Studios or Mark Studios better?

For most creators, Mark Studios: you can order one thumbnail with no agreement, every monthly plan includes thumbnails with the edit and Shorts, the layered file comes on request, and every design goes through Mark. The studio is Top Rated on Fiverr with a 4.9★ rating and 99% on time. Dava Studios is better for big channels that want a set weekly volume from one dedicated designer, a 24–48 hour average turnaround and unlimited revisions, and will sign a 6- or 12-month agreement for its best rate.

Is Dava Studios legit?

Yes. Dava Studios is the trading name of Dava Marketing LLC in Orem, Utah, founded in 2019. It publishes its prices, FAQ and terms, and its client list includes channels such as StarTalk and Jake Paul. Its Trustpilot profile showed 17 reviews and a 4.5 TrustScore on October 25, 2026. Read the agreement before you sign: committed terms can't end early, and payments are non-refundable.
