Send the title and a frame
The video or its working title, a sharp photo or a frame from the footage, and one or two thumbnails you like the look of. Channel fonts and colors too, if you have them.
Mark Studios designs custom YouTube thumbnails for creators and brands, and every one goes through Mark Santos, who has run his own channel since 2011. Order a single thumbnail by instant quote or get them inside a monthly editing plan, with A/B versions for YouTube’s Test & Compare, 3 revision rounds and the source file on request.

One thumbnail or a month of them, it starts from the video’s title, because the image and the title have to tell one story together.

The instant quote prices the thumbnail before you pay, with rush delivery at checkout if it has to be ready by a date. On a monthly plan the thumbnails are already counted in.
One idea the viewer gets in a second on a phone: a face or object that carries it, a few words that add to the title instead of repeating it. Testing the upload? Mark designs the A/B versions.
Up to 3 rounds of changes, then the final file, ready for YouTube Studio. Ask for the layered source file and you can make your own versions later.
Banners, profile art, end-screen templates and brand kits are part of design and branding, and they can go in the same order as your thumbnails.
Real thumbnails from client channels, from finance and poker to science, cooking and anime.

Three ways to get thumbnails from Mark Studios, depending on how often you upload.

Mark has run his own YouTube channel since 2011 and grown it past 200,000 subscribers and 10M+ views, so he judges a thumbnail the way your viewers will: on a crowded home feed, at phone size, next to the title. You work with him directly.
“If you go back to some of my top performing videos on YouTube, Mark is the person that did all of those thumbnails. I’d highly recommend working with him and his actual experience as a YouTuber makes him great to work with since he knows what actually works from personal experience.”
A custom thumbnail designed around your video's title: the image or frame that carries the idea, a few words of bold text that read on a phone, and your channel's colors and fonts. At Mark Studios every thumbnail goes through Mark Santos, who has run his own YouTube channel since 2011. You get 3 revision rounds, A/B versions for YouTube's Test & Compare when you ask for them, and the layered source file on request.
A single thumbnail is priced in the instant quote, which shows the exact price before you pay, and every monthly editing plan includes thumbnails (see plans and pricing). The standard turnaround is 5 to 7 business days, and you can choose rush delivery at checkout. On a monthly plan each thumbnail comes with its video, within 7 business days of your footage landing. Send the title or the video, a sharp photo or frame, and a reference or two, and the clock starts.
Yes. For uploads you plan to test, Mark designs A/B versions. YouTube's Test & Compare lets you test up to 3 thumbnails or titles on a long-form video from YouTube Studio on a computer; it isn't available for Shorts, a test can take a few days to 2 weeks, and the version with the highest watch time is shown to everyone.
YouTube's help page recommends 3840 x 2160 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio for videos, and a minimum width of 640 pixels; Shorts thumbnails are 9:16. Files must be JPG or PNG, under 50 MB from YouTube Studio on a computer or 2 MB from the mobile app, and you need a verified account to upload a custom thumbnail. Our free thumbnail checker tests a file against those specs.
The video or its title, a sharp photo or a frame from the footage, and a reference or two you like. If your channel has fonts, colors or a recurring layout, send those too, so every thumbnail looks like it came from the same channel.
Yes. Starter includes 2 thumbnails a month, Growth 4 with the title and SEO for each video, Scale 8, and Unlimited a thumbnail with every long-form video, all in one style that stays the same every month. Plan prices are on the pricing page.
Tell the instant quote what the video is about and when it goes live. You see the price before you pay, and Mark designs it.
