What we build for pets & animals.
Product & brand films
Clean, conversion-focused videos for pet food, supplement, accessory, and toy brands — edited to showcase the product and win over pet-owner audiences on YouTube, Amazon, and paid social.
Pet creator content
Long-form YouTube videos and episode-based series for pet channels — tight pacing, engaging chapter structure, and the kind of polish that turns casual viewers into subscribers.
Veterinary & clinic education videos
Clear, approachable explainers for vet practices and animal hospitals — procedure walkthroughs, care guides, and FAQ content that builds trust and reduces front-desk calls.
UGC editing
Raw clips from pet owners or creators shaped into authentic product videos that feel native to TikTok and Instagram — the kind of content that gets shared and converts without looking like an ad.
Social reels & short-form clips
Captioned vertical content cut from long-form footage or filmed specifically for short-form — paced and sound-designed for animals on camera, where timing is everything.
Before-and-after grooming & training videos
High-impact transformation edits for groomers, trainers, and behaviorists — structured for maximum visual payoff and built to attract new clients.
Ad creative
Performance-oriented commercial edits for pet brands running paid campaigns — direct response hooks, product close-ups, and social proof integrated into a format built to stop the scroll and drive action.

“I went through about 20 editors before I found Mark Santos, who has been a loyal and reliable and incredible editor. He is creative. He is responsive. He is polite. He takes feedback very well.”

Pet brands and creators sit on hours of great footage — product demos, unboxings, clinic walkthroughs, adorable raw clips — that never makes it to an audience because editing takes time nobody has. The brands and creators that win in the pet space are the ones with a consistent content output: polished product films, relatable UGC, and short-form reels that stop the scroll. We build that pipeline and keep it running.
The best online tutorials for editing pet videos.
The best online tutorials for editing pet videos are the free ones published by the company behind the editing app you already use. They cost nothing and they come from the people who build the software. None of them is about pets, though, so learn the app from one of these, then use the six steps below for the pet-specific part.
| Editing app | Where its free tutorials are | Best for pet videos when… |
|---|---|---|
| CapCut (phone and desktop) | CapCut's editing guides and tips | You post vertical Reels, TikToks and Shorts straight from phone clips |
| iMovie (iPhone, iPad, Mac) | Apple's iMovie User Guide for iPhone and Mac | You want a simple montage of your pet on an Apple device |
| DaVinci Resolve (free version) | Blackmagic Design's free training videos and books | You want to learn a full professional editor, including color and audio |
| Final Cut Pro (Mac) | Apple's Final Cut Pro User Guide | You make longer YouTube pet videos or a weekly series on a Mac |
| YouTube Studio | YouTube for Creators | You need the upload, Shorts and channel side rather than the edit itself |
How to edit a pet video: six steps.
Whichever app you learn, pet footage needs the same six edits. These are the ones we make on pet brand and pet creator projects.
- Keep the moments, cut the minutesPets don't repeat on cue, so the raw footage runs long and the good part is short. Scrub for reactions (the head tilt, the zoomies, the first sniff of a new toy) and build the video around them.
- Open on the payoffStart on the funniest or cutest beat and explain later, and cut on the animal's movement so the rhythm follows the pet. Our guide to editing pacing and rhythm covers the timing.
- Keep the real soundA bark, a purr or the crunch of a treat is often the hook, so lay music under it rather than over it. Use only music you have a license for: a Content ID music claim can block a video or send its ad revenue to the rights holder.
- Caption itIn a 2019 Verizon Media and Publicis Media survey, 69% of people said they watch video with the sound off in public places (see our video captions statistics). Burned-in captions carry the joke when the sound is off.
- Frame for verticalAnimals rarely stay in the middle of the frame. When you cut a horizontal clip down to 9:16, reframe shot by shot so the pet stays in view. Our guide to framing one take for 16:9 and 9:16 shows how.
- Match the colorClips from different rooms, phones and times of day won't match. Even out exposure and white balance before you add a look; our color grading guide walks through it.
Stabilizing pet POV footage. A camera on a collar or harness bounces with every step, so turn on in-camera stabilization before you film, such as a GoPro's HyperSmooth or Action mode on an iPhone. In the edit, iMovie on a Mac can stabilize shaky clips and fix rolling shutter, the wobble fast movement causes, and Final Cut Pro's stabilization settings in the Video inspector pick between InertiaCam and SmoothCam. Stabilizing crops into the frame, so leave room around the pet when you shoot.
When to hand pet video editing off.
Editing it yourself makes sense for a few clips a month. It stops paying when you post pet content every week or sell a pet product, because the hours add up; our breakdown of the real hours behind a 10-minute video shows where that line usually falls. Quality matters to buyers too: 89% of consumers say video quality affects how much they trust a brand, according to Wyzowl figures on our video editing statistics page.
Mark Studios has delivered 8,000+ projects for 4,500+ clients. Our pet work includes a pet-food commercial for Fish4Dogs that we also cut as a vertical version, a brand video for Fish4Cats and a sales video for Petglow, all playable below. Any of them: pet food and supplement brands, pet accessory and product companies, vet clinics and animal hospitals, pet creators and influencers on YouTube and TikTok, groomers, trainers, and rescue organizations.
Yes. We cut raw footage from pet owners, creators, or brand-provided clips into authentic-feeling product videos that perform on TikTok, Instagram Reels, and paid social. Captions, sound design, and pacing all tuned for the platform.
Absolutely. We structure the edit for maximum impact — tight pacing, clean cuts, captions that call out the result — whether it's a grooming glow-up or a training breakthrough.
Yes. We identify the clearest, most shareable moments — a key tip, a visual demonstration, a compelling before/after — and repackage them as captioned vertical or square clips ready for Instagram Reels, TikTok, or YouTube Shorts.
Standard turnaround is 5–7 days, with expedited delivery available when you need it sooner, depending on footage length and complexity. Retainer clients on the Scale plan get priority queue access; every plan deliverable is due within 7 business days of its footage landing.
Both. Pet creators typically need a content engine — a repeatable system for turning raw footage into polished weekly uploads and short-form clips. Brands need product films, ad creative, and UGC packs. We scope both and can white-label for agencies serving the pet industry.
The official ones from each editing app's maker. Blackmagic Design publishes free DaVinci Resolve training videos and books, Apple publishes the iMovie and Final Cut Pro user guides, and CapCut runs a hub of editing guides. None of them is pet-specific, so learn the app there, then apply the pet basics: keep the reactions, open on the payoff, keep the real sound, add captions, reframe for vertical and match the color.
Yes. Phone footage is fine. Send everything, long clips and outtakes included, and note the moments you remember. We pick the best reactions, cut them to length, add captions and licensed music, and deliver versions sized for YouTube, Instagram Reels, TikTok and your product pages. You don't need to trim or pre-select anything before you send it.
