How Much Does It Cost to Advertise on YouTube in 2026? Cost per View, Budgets and the Ad Itself

What YouTube ads cost in 2026: $0.05–$0.50 per paid view, how each format bills, what $10 a day buys, and the cost of making and managing the ad.

How Much Does It Cost to Advertise on YouTube in 2026? Cost per View, Budgets and the Ad Itself

The Short Answer: What YouTube Ads Cost

Advertising on YouTube costs roughly $0.05–$0.50 per paid view in 2026, with no minimum spend. Fiverr's 2026 guide estimates $0.05–$0.15 per view for skippable ads, and a WebFX survey of 270 marketers found $0.11–$0.50 per view or action, with $10 a day the typical budget. That's about $304 a month.

Some Fiverr links on this page are affiliate links: Mark Studios may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no cost to you.

Those are other companies' published figures, read November 3, 2026, not ours. Mark Studios makes YouTube ads and runs YouTube and Google campaigns, and quotes each account, so there is no Mark Studios price on this page.

Ad spend is only one of three bills. You also pay to make the ad and, unless you run the campaign yourself, someone to manage it. Google bills the first. The other two go to whoever does the work.

How YouTube Charges for Each Ad Format

YouTube has no fixed rate card. You bid in Google's auction, and the format decides what you're billed for: a view, or every thousand impressions. The rules are on Google Ads Help's video ad formats page:

FormatLengthYou pay forPublished estimate
Skippable in-streamAny length (under 3 min recommended), skippable after 5 sA view: 30 seconds watched (or the whole ad if shorter) or a click, whichever comes first~$0.05–$0.15 per view
In-feedAny lengthA view: a click on the thumbnail, or 10 seconds of autoplay~$0.05–$0.20 per view
YouTube ShortsUnder 60 s recommendedA view: 10 seconds watched, or a click on the call to actionNo separate estimate
Non-skippable in-stream15–60 sImpressions (Target CPM bidding)~$6–$12 per 1,000 impressions (CPM campaigns generally)
Bumper6 sImpressions (Target CPM bidding)~$4–$10 per 1,000 impressions
Masthead (home page)Any lengthReserved through Google's ad team, per 1,000 impressions or per hourQuoted by Google

Estimates are from Fiverr's 2026 guide. The billing rules are Google's.

The skippable rule is the one to remember. Under cost-per-view bidding, a viewer who skips at 5 seconds costs you nothing. Google's CPV bidding page counts those billable "TrueView views" apart from the "YouTube public views" on your video, which start the moment the ad plays. Choose Target CPM bidding for a skippable ad and you pay per impression instead.

When each YouTube ad format charges you, per Google Ads Help: skippable in-stream ads bill a view at 30 seconds watched (or a click), in-feed and Shorts ads bill a view at 10 seconds (or a click), and bumper and non-skippable ads bill per 1,000 impressions from the moment they play.

What a Monthly YouTube Ad Budget Buys

Google Ads runs on a daily budget, not a monthly one. Google Ads Help says to divide your monthly budget by 30.4 and uses $304 a month, or $10 a day, as its own example. A single day can spend up to twice the daily figure, but a month never bills more than 30.4 times it.

Monthly budgetDaily budgetPaid views at $0.05–$0.15Paid views at $0.11–$0.50Bumper impressions at $4–$10 CPM

$3,000$9920,000–60,0006,000–27,000300,000–750,000

That table is arithmetic on the published estimates, not a forecast. Your real cost per view depends on the audience you target, the season and how good the ad is.

For scale, 60% of small businesses (11–50 employees) in WebFX's survey spend $101–$1,000 a month on YouTube ads. Fiverr's guide puts $20–$50+ a day as common for mid-sized advertisers, so Google's bidding gets enough data to learn from.

Paid YouTube views a monthly budget buys at Fiverr's 2026 estimate of $0.05–$0.15 per view: about 2,000–6,100 views at $304 a month, 6,700–20,000 at $1,000 and 20,000–60,000 at $3,000.

The Two Bills Besides Ad Spend

Making the ad

Each format needs its own cut: a 6-second bumper, a 15–30 second in-stream spot and a vertical version for Shorts. Plan all three from one batch of footage and you pay for one edit session, not three.

  • Marketplace creative. On November 3, 2026, 13 page-one Fiverr gigs that create video ads had starting prices of $15–$120 on its YouTube video ads search. Read each package for length, revisions and music rights.
  • Edited from your footage. Our video ad editing cost guide prices ad edits per ad and per variant.
  • Filmed from scratch. Commercial production cost covers shoots, crews and talent.
  • Vertical ads. Check the frame in the free safe zone checker, which draws Google's own zones for YouTube vertical video ads.

Have nothing to cut from? Mark films on site in Palm Beach County (on-site videography) and edits the ads from that shoot.

Running the campaign

  • You. No fee, just your hours inside Google Ads.
  • A freelancer. Upwork puts Google Ads experts' median rates at $15–$40 an hour. On Fiverr's YouTube ads campaign search, five page-one gigs that set up a YouTube campaign for leads or sales started at $50–$195, usually a setup rather than months of management.
  • An agency. WebFX's PPC pricing guide puts management at 10–20% of ad spend, or $1,000–$3,000 a month.

Our Facebook ads management cost guide compares published flat and percentage fees, and Fiverr vs Upwork vs an agency runs the platform fee math.

One warning: 22 of the 88 gigs on those two Fiverr searches sell "YouTube video promotion via Google Ads," with starting prices of $5–$25. They're pitched at adding views to a creator's video. A business that wants leads should ask what share of the price is ad spend, which format runs and whether it gets access to the Google Ads report.

How to Budget Your First YouTube Campaign: 6 Steps

  1. Pick the one result that matters: views, site visits, leads or sales. It sets the campaign objective, and the objective sets how you pay.
  2. Match the format to it. Skippable in-stream for people weighing a purchase, bumpers for cheap reach, Shorts ads for a vertical audience.
  3. Set a monthly budget, then divide by 30.4 for the daily figure Google asks for.
  4. Cut the ad in every length you'll run before launch, not after the first week.
  5. Run a fixed test window and judge the cost per lead or sale, not the cost per view.
  6. Get any management fee in writing, separate from the ad spend, with the contract length and who owns the ad account.

Where Mark Studios Fits

Mark builds, runs and reports YouTube and Google ad campaigns, along with Facebook and Instagram. The ad budget is paid straight to Google, never to Mark Studios, and the fee covers the work. The ads can be made in-house too: cut from footage you already have, or filmed on site in Palm Beach, Broward and Martin counties. Law firms putting a TV spot on YouTube can see the attorney videos and explainers we make on our law firm video page. Mark scopes each account personally; ask for an ads quote and he emails a monthly price within one business day. We've delivered 8,000+ orders for 4,500+ clients and are Top Rated on Fiverr with a 4.9★ rating. We promise the work, not a number of leads, because nobody controls Google's auction.

The Bottom Line

YouTube ads cost about $0.05–$0.50 per paid view in 2026, and a $10-a-day test runs about $304 a month. Budget for the ad itself and, if you hand it off, for management, then judge the campaign by cost per lead or sale, not by views.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum budget to advertise on YouTube?

No. YouTube ads have no minimum spend: you set an average daily budget in Google Ads, and Google Ads Help's own example is $304 a month, or $10 a day. A single day can spend up to twice the daily budget, but a month never bills more than 30.4 times it. A WebFX survey of 270 marketers found $10 a day to be the typical budget.

Do you pay for a YouTube ad if someone skips it?

Not with cost-per-view bidding. For skippable in-stream ads, Google Ads Help says you pay when a viewer watches 30 seconds (or the whole ad if it's shorter) or clicks, whichever comes first, so a skip at 5 seconds is free. If you choose Target CPM bidding instead, you pay for impressions whether or not the viewer skips.

How much does a 30-second YouTube ad cost?

There is no fixed price for a 30-second slot. A skippable 30-second ad is billed per view when someone watches all 30 seconds or clicks, and Fiverr's 2026 guide estimates $0.05–$0.15 per view, while a WebFX survey found $0.11–$0.50 per view or action. Making the ad is a separate cost, paid to whoever edits or films it.

How much do YouTube ads cost per 1,000 impressions?

About $4–$12 per 1,000 impressions, by published 2026 estimates. Fiverr's guide puts bumper ads at roughly $4–$10 CPM and CPM campaigns generally at $6–$12. Bumper and non-skippable in-stream ads always use Target CPM bidding, so you pay per impression, while skippable ads can be bought per view or per impression.

What is the difference between a TrueView view and a YouTube view?

A TrueView view is the one you pay for; a YouTube public view is the count on the video. Google Ads Help says a TrueView view counts at 30 seconds of an in-stream ad, 10 seconds of a Shorts ad or a click, while a public view counts the moment the ad starts to play. Bumper and non-skippable ads earn no TrueView views.

How much does it cost to have someone manage YouTube ads?

Usually 10–20% of ad spend, or $1,000–$3,000 a month at an agency, according to WebFX's PPC pricing guide. Freelancers cost less: Upwork lists median rates of $15–$40 an hour for Google Ads experts, and page-one Fiverr gigs that set up a YouTube ad campaign started at $50–$195 on November 3, 2026. The ad budget is paid to Google on top.
