The Short Answer: YouTube Banner Cost
A YouTube banner costs $0 to about $500 in 2026. A template you fill in yourself costs nothing (or the price of a template subscription), a custom banner from a Fiverr freelancer starts at $5–$50 (the median starting price on page one is $20), and a 99designs contest runs $79–$299, with a 1-to-1 designer there estimated at $99–$499.
Some Fiverr links on this page are affiliate links: Mark Studios may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no cost to you.
Those are other companies' published prices, checked October 26, 2026, not ours. Mark Studios designs channel banners as part of its design and branding work and quotes each order, so there is no Mark Studios price on this page.
YouTube Banner Prices by Route

| Route | Published price | What it buys |
|---|---|---|
| Template | $0 with a free template; Envato Elements Core is $16.50 a month billed yearly, $39 month to month | A ready-made layout you fill in yourself. Other channels can use the same one |
| Fiverr gig | Page-one gigs start at $5–$150, median $20 | The seller's smallest package. A matching logo, the source file and revisions vary by gig |
| Dribbble listing | $15–$100 in the listings we read, plus a platform fee | One example: $45 for one concept and three revisions in two days |
| 99designs contest | $79 (about 20 concepts) to $299 | Many designers pitch and you pick one; copyright and ownership are yours |
| 99designs 1-to-1 designer | $99–$499 (99designs' own estimate) | One designer and a closer back-and-forth on the brief |
| Thumbnail subscription | $69 a month (Thumbnail Designers' Plus plan) | 31 thumbnails a month plus channel art and a logo, changeable monthly |
The subscription row only makes sense if you need thumbnails anyway. For those, our guide to YouTube thumbnail design cost covers per-thumbnail and monthly prices.
What a Banner Costs on Fiverr

Fiverr lists 1,670 YouTube banner services, and 30 of the 48 on page one start at $25 or less (our count). A search for YouTube channel art looks the same, with a median starting price of $15 across its 46 page-one gigs. 19 of those 48 gig titles also offer a logo, a profile picture or a full branding kit.
A starting price is the seller's smallest package. Before you compare two gigs, open the package table and check four things: whether a profile picture or logo is included, whether you get the layered source file or only the exported image, how many revisions it covers, and whether the seller's samples still read on a phone.
Banner Only or a Channel Package?
In our client conversations a banner rarely comes alone: most banner requests also mention a profile picture or a logo, so the two match. Sellers price that as a step up rather than as two jobs. One Dribbble designer charges $15 for a banner for one platform, $35 for a channel logo and $100 for a full package: a banner template, a profile picture, a social media kit and a vector logo, with unlimited revisions.
99designs prices the same step much higher. Its logo and social media pack starts at $399 as a contest, and a 1-to-1 designer is estimated at $349–$999. If you have a logo already, you're buying the cheaper job: a banner and profile picture built from the brand you have. Our channel branding guide covers what a full creator brand system includes.
What Moves the Price

- Illustration. A drawn character or scene is more work than a photo with type over it. Check whether the starting package covers illustration or only layout.
- Profile picture and logo. Each one adds a design, and in the listings we read a logo costs more than the banner.
- The source file. Ask for the layered file if you'll change the upload schedule or tagline yourself. Some packages deliver only the exported image, like the $15 Dribbble banner above, which ships as a JPEG.
- Other platforms. Resizing the art for Twitch, X or LinkedIn is extra work, and several Fiverr gigs sell multi-platform banner sets.
- Concepts and revisions. One Dribbble listing gives one concept with three revisions; a 99designs contest brings in about 20 to 40 concepts, depending on the package.
- Fees. Marketplaces add their own fees at checkout. On Dribbble, a $45 listing came to $50.98 by card, after a $4.25 platform fee and a $1.73 card fee.
- The spec. Google's developer documentation asks for a 16:9 image of at least 2048 × 1152 pixels, recommends 2560 × 1440 and caps the file at 6 MB. A designer who works to that and keeps the text in the safe area saves you a round. Our free YouTube banner checker shows the safe area on any banner, and our guide to the sizes YouTube actually renders covers the avatar and watermark too.
How to Get an Accurate Banner Quote
Send these in your first message and the quotes will compare like for like:
- Your channel link and a line on what the channel is about.
- What you need: the banner alone, or the banner plus a profile picture, a logo or a watermark.
- The style: a photo of you, an illustrated character or type only, plus two or three banners you like.
- The final words: channel name, tagline and upload schedule, exactly as they should read.
- Your brand kit: logo, colors and fonts, if you have them.
- The files you want back: the 2560 × 1440 export, the layered source file, and any other platforms.
