Best-of list

Best videographers in Fort Lauderdale, FL (2026)

For most Fort Lauderdale shoots, from a boat-show stand or a yacht walkthrough to a gala, a Las Olas restaurant’s social clips or a wedding, our pick is Mark Studios: Mark films on location anywhere in Broward, edits every cut himself with 5–7 day standard delivery, and quotes each job in writing. If you’d rather have a wedding team that lives in town, a yacht listing priced by the foot, a home walkthrough off a public price list or a studio with a cyclorama wall, the groups below tell you who to call.

How this list works: Mark Studios publishes it and ranks its own service, so this is not an independent review. Every other option’s facts come from its own site, with the date we checked (how we compared).

Our pick

Filming in Fort Lauderdale? Start with Mark Studios.

Much of the city’s video is shot at the water’s edge: brokers, builders and refit yards along the New River and the canals, and every fall a boat show spread over six locations. The rest follows the social calendar, from conferences and galas to Las Olas restaurants and beach hotels working the season, plus the weddings. Mark Studios takes on all of it and edits in house, so the person who agrees your shot list is the one who cuts the film.

  • Boat-show week, planned ahead. Your stand, boats and people are filmed to an agreed list, social clips go out while the show is still running, and the recap follows; access is cleared with the organizer and your dock master first.
  • Every cut agreed in writing. The main film, the vertical clips, captions, color and sound are listed before the shoot; standard delivery is 5–7 days, with an expedited date when the week is tight.
  • One editor from first shot to delivery. Mark is Top Rated on Fiverr with a 4.9★ average over 8,000+ orders, and 99% of them arrived on time.

Filming in Fort Lauderdale: what to plan for.

Four things that shape a shoot in the city, drawn from Broward County’s film commission, the boat show’s own pages, Bonnet House and the FAA, all read on October 23, 2026.

  1. Permits: one county office for most of Broward

Film Lauderdale, Broward County’s film commission, issues permits for every kind of county property, from parks and buildings to roadways, bridges and parking facilities, and it permits on behalf of most of the county’s 31 municipalities. It warns that most of those cities want a permit for filming on private property as well as public, so ask the commission whenever you aren’t sure. A standard request takes at least three business days, and one with stunts, road closures or pyrotechnics needs two weeks or more; county and city offices close on weekends and holidays, and some cities close on Fridays as well. Productions pay no permit fee, only cost recovery for special services such as police, road closures or facility rentals. The certificate of insurance has to add Broward County and the city you’re filming in as insureds, with at least $1,000,000 of general liability per claim, $300,000 of auto liability when company vehicles are used and workers’ compensation once cast and crew reach four, and the limits can change when watercraft are involved. A shoot with seven or more boats, or one that gets in the way of waterway traffic, needs a US Coast Guard permit too.

  2. The beach and the barrier island: turtle season and Bonnet House

Sea turtle nesting season on Broward’s beaches runs from March 1 to October 31, so a beach shoot before November still falls under it. During the season tripods may sink no more than six inches into the sand, deeper gear needs plywood underneath, no lights are allowed on the beach before sunrise or after sunset, and vehicles can’t haul equipment across the sand; the Florida Department of Environmental Protection strongly discourages night filming on nesting beaches, and a crew that uncovers a nest has to stop and call the local turtle monitor. Bonnet House, the 1920s estate on the island between the ocean and the Intracoastal, lets anyone pose for portraits in its courtyard and gardens, weddings and engagements included, for $30 a person paid at the Welcome Center, Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm, with no reservation; no props, garment bags or wardrobe changes are allowed, and tripods and posed portraits stay out of the exhibit rooms, where only quick snapshots, videos and selfies are permitted. Commercial filming there is by reservation, from $500 for five hours with fewer than five people.

  3. Boat show week: October 28 to November 1, 2026

The 67th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs from October 28 to November 1, 2026, across the Broward County Convention Center, Bahia Mar, Hall of Fame Marina, Superyacht Village, Pier Sixty-Six North and Las Olas Marina, and its organizers call it the largest in-water boat show in the world. Wednesday is a preview day from noon to 7 pm, Thursday to Saturday run from 10 am to 7 pm, and Sunday closes at 5 pm. Drones are on its list of items not permitted inside the show. Photographers working for exhibitors have to arrange their passes with those exhibitors before the event, media applications closed on October 20 with no on-site registration, and the show isn’t accepting influencer applications this year. If you’re filming a stand or a boat, your pass comes through the exhibitor, so settle it when you book the crew.

  4. Drones: FLL’s Class C and Executive’s Class D

Before drone footage can go on a Broward permit, Film Lauderdale needs written clearance from the FAA, arranged through the commission or handed over by the pilot: an FAA UAS information request with the date, time and place of the flight, the pilot’s license (with proof of recency if it was issued more than 24 months before the shoot), the drone’s registration and LAANC approval for any flight in Class B, C, D or E airspace at or below 400 feet. The FAA puts Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport 7 miles north of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International and about 4 miles southwest of Pompano Beach Airport, in Class D airspace up to 2,500 feet MSL that sits beneath FLL’s Class C airspace, with a tower that operates 24 hours; its notes to pilots ask them to watch for drones authorized at or below 400 feet in that Class D. LAANC requests can be filed up to 90 days ahead, and the boat show bans drones inside the show regardless.

Every Fort Lauderdale option, with pros and cons.

Founder-led studio that films on location in Fort Lauderdale: quoted per shoot

5–7 days standard; expedited available

In Fort Lauderdale, Mark Studios films the work the city is known for: yacht walkthroughs and listings shot in the order a buyer would walk the boat, with aerials where they’re permitted; your stand, your boats and your people at the boat show, cut into clips during the week and a recap after; and refit yards, charter crews and marine services for brand and recruiting films. Away from the docks it covers conferences, panels and receptions at hotels and convention venues, restaurants, bars and hotels on Las Olas and the beach for the season’s campaigns, partner interviews for law firms, and weddings. Mark plans each shoot around the edit, photographs on the same visit if you ask, and edits every cut himself, from the main film to the vertical versions, captions, color and sound, with 5–7 day standard delivery or an expedited date. The studio is based in Palm Beach County, about 33 miles north, has no Fort Lauderdale office, and films on site across Broward, Palm Beach and Martin counties. Its latest published event is the Sovereign Self-Defense Keep America Armed gala in the PGA National Resort ballroom in Palm Beach Gardens, filmed and photographed in July 2026 and cut into What Patriotism Looks Like in 2026; nearer to Fort Lauderdale, a February 2024 wedding in Deerfield Beach was one booking that came back as four films and the edited photos. Across its work, Mark Studios counts 10,000+ projects delivered and 4,500+ reviews, and it is Top Rated on Fiverr at 4.9★ with 99% on-time delivery.

From Samantha at Sovereign Self-Defense: “It has completely changed the way that we do business.”

Who’s included
Companies whose own sites place them in Fort Lauderdale or name it in their coverage, found through web searches for Fort Lauderdale videographers by kind of shoot on October 23, 2026 and through Thumbtack’s and Zola’s Fort Lauderdale pages, grouped by kind of shoot, plus those two marketplaces. Companies that mainly make corporate films are compared on our corporate video production in Fort Lauderdale list, so C&I Studios, Digital Cut Productions, Ball Media Innovations and the rest are left to that page, and Beverly Boy Productions and Candid Studios, already on our corporate and Palm Beach County lists, made room here for Fort Lauderdale names. We dropped what we couldn’t check: Video Dept., a Fort Lauderdale wedding studio, turned up only on WeddingWire and other directories, and the videodept.com domain belongs to an unrelated Ohio agency; Bells & Whistles Photo + Video appears only on Zola; Broadcast Beat Studios’ site didn’t load; Video Production Company Fort Lauderdale names no team, address or past clients; Danbren Media is a national wedding media group rather than a local studio; and Jack Dalten Creative, near the top of Thumbtack’s page, is based in Phoenix. The City of Fort Lauderdale’s film and special-event pages blocked our link checker, so the permit notes rely on Film Lauderdale’s own pages.
What we checked
On October 23, 2026 we read each provider’s own site for where it’s based, the shoots it takes, published prices, delivery and what a booking includes, plus Thumbtack’s Fort Lauderdale and cost-guide pages and Zola’s Fort Lauderdale videographer search. For the planning section we read Film Lauderdale’s permit, drone and sea turtle pages, the boat show’s FAQ, show overview and press pages, Bonnet House’s film and photo page, and the FAA’s pages on Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport and Part 107 airspace authorizations.
How it’s ordered
By kind of shoot: events, galas and parties; weddings; yachts and the boat show; real estate; then the marketplaces, alphabetical within each group. Mark Studios comes first because it is our pick; nobody else is ranked or scored.

Do I need a permit to film in Fort Lauderdale?

Usually, yes. Film Lauderdale, Broward County’s film commission, permits county property and acts for most of the county’s 31 municipalities, and it says most of them want a permit for private property as well as public. Productions pay no permit fee, only cost recovery for services such as police or road closures. Allow at least three business days for a standard permit, and bring a certificate of insurance with at least $1,000,000 of general liability per claim that names Broward County and the city as additional insureds.

Can I fly a drone in Fort Lauderdale?

Only with FAA clearance in hand. Film Lauderdale won’t put drone use on a permit without written FAA clearance, which means a Part 107 pilot, a registered drone and LAANC approval for any flight in Class B, C, D or E airspace at or below 400 feet. Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, 7 miles north of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International, has Class D airspace with a tower open 24 hours, and it sits under FLL’s Class C airspace. Drones aren’t allowed inside the boat show.

Can I film at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show?

Yes, through an exhibitor. The 2026 show runs October 28 to November 1 across six locations, from the Broward County Convention Center to Bahia Mar and Pier Sixty-Six North. Photographers working for exhibitors get their passes from those exhibitors before the show, media applications closed on October 20 with no on-site registration, and drones are banned inside. Mark Studios films stands, boats and people during the week and cuts social clips while the show is on, with a recap after it.

Can I shoot on the beach in Fort Lauderdale during turtle season?

Yes, with limits, until the season ends on October 31. From March 1, Broward’s film rules keep tripods to six inches in the sand, allow no lights on the beach before sunrise or after sunset and keep vehicles and heavy gear off it, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection strongly discourages night filming on nesting beaches. The department’s Office of Beaches and Coastal Systems issues permits for special activities on the beach.

Blissfort Films or Mark Studios: which is better?

It depends on the job. Blissfort Films is the better fit for a couple who want a Fort Lauderdale husband-and-wife team that films weddings, elopements and quinceañeras, with an extended feature film on its bigger packages. Mark Studios is the better fit when the shoot is business as well as celebration, such as boat-show coverage, a yacht walkthrough, a gala recap or social clips for a Las Olas venue, or when you want the film, vertical cuts and photos from one booking: Mark agrees every cut in writing before the day and edits it himself, with 5–7 day standard delivery.

Does Mark Studios film weddings in Fort Lauderdale?

Yes. Fort Lauderdale is in Mark’s Broward County service area, and he films and photographs weddings on location and edits both himself; a February 2024 wedding in Deerfield Beach, also in Broward, came back from one booking as four films and the edited photos. Every wedding is quoted in writing; see wedding videography and photography, or our West Palm Beach wedding videographer list for specialists.
