Best-of list

Best photographers in Fort Lauderdale, FL (2026)

For Fort Lauderdale yachts, marine businesses, offices, Las Olas restaurants, boat-show stands and weddings, our pick is Mark Studios: Mark photographs on location anywhere in Broward, can film video on the same visit, and edits every image in house, with a written quote for each shoot. Planning family photos on the beach? Mark Studios doesn’t run those sessions, so the first group below covers who does, from Andrea Harborne at $365 for 30 minutes to Golden Palm Photography at $450 for an hour, with Flytographer’s vacation shoots from $325.

How this list works: Mark Studios publishes it and ranks its own service, so this is not an independent review. Every other option’s facts come from its own site, with the date we checked (how we compared).

Our pick

For a Fort Lauderdale boat, business, event or wedding, book Mark Studios.

Much of Fort Lauderdale is sold through its pictures: a yacht listing reaches buyers around the world on the strength of its gallery, a firm’s team page makes the first impression, and a Las Olas dining room fills from its photos. Mark Studios photographs that work on location, along with boat-show stands, conferences and weddings, and edits every frame as one studio. Family, maternity and couples sessions aren’t part of it; the photographers who run them come first below.

  • Boats, docks and boat-show week. Exteriors, decks, salons and cabins dockside for listings and brokerage, yards and crews for marine businesses, and your stand and guests at the boat show, delivered during the week or straight after.
  • Offices, rooms and tables. Matching portraits for the law firms, advisors and corporate offices downtown, and food, rooms and terraces for the restaurants and hotels on Las Olas and the beach, shot at the hours they look best.
  • You work directly with Mark. Top Rated on Fiverr, a 4.9★ rating, 8,000+ orders and 99% on-time delivery, with video of the same visit if you want it.

Photographing in Fort Lauderdale: what to plan for.

Four things to settle before a photo shoot in the city, taken from Film Lauderdale, the City of Fort Lauderdale, Bonnet House, the boat show and the FAA, all read October 23, 2026.

  1. A paid portrait session on public land goes through Film Lauderdale

Film Lauderdale, Broward County’s film commission, permits shoots on all county property, parks included, and on behalf of most of the county’s 31 municipalities, and it keeps a step-by-step guide for family portrait photographers who apply through its FilmApp system. The guide asks for confirmed locations, dates and times, a crew count and a certificate of insurance listing the city as certificate holder, and tells photographers to give every session its own project name, such as “Valentines Mini Session February 2025”, so each permit lists only that shoot’s spots. Under its permit requirements, a standard request needs at least three business days, the policy must carry at least $1,000,000 of general liability, and there’s no permit fee beyond cost recovery for services such as police or facility rentals; the commission itself takes no payments. The City of Fort Lauderdale’s parks website didn’t load for us, so for a city park, ask the commission which rules apply.

  2. Bonnet House: $30 a person, no props and no outfit changes

The 1920s estate between the ocean and the Intracoastal lets anyone be photographed in its courtyard and gardens, whether for an engagement, a proposal, a quinceañera, a graduation or a maternity shoot, for $30 a person paid at the Welcome Center, Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm, with no reservation or permit. The trade-offs: no changing room or wardrobe changes, no suitcases, garment bags or props of any kind, tours take priority, and access can be limited without notice. In the exhibit rooms only quick snapshots are allowed, never posed portraits or tripods, and the house closes on Mondays, holidays and for the Fort Lauderdale Air Show. Commercial photography is by reservation, from $500 for five hours with fewer than five people. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is one of Flytographer’s Fort Lauderdale routes, but the Florida State Parks site wouldn’t load for us, so check the park’s rules before booking a paid session there.

  3. Beach sessions: book the sunset, not the dark

The city’s sea turtle page puts nesting season in Fort Lauderdale at March 1 to October 31, with the peak around late June and early July. Under Film Lauderdale’s standard beach conditions for those months, no lights may be used on the beach before sunrise or after sunset, tripods can sink no more than six inches, and a shoot that uncovers an unmarked nest has to stop and call the local sea turtle monitor. For a family session that means finishing as the sun goes down rather than adding flash or a lit backdrop after dark, and checking that a dawn shoot starts at sunrise. From November through February the season’s conditions don’t apply. If you come across a stranded turtle or hatchlings heading away from the water, the city lists Broward’s Sea Turtle Emergency Hotline, 954-328-0580.

  4. Yachts, boat-show week and drones

The 67th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show runs October 28 to November 1, 2026, with more than 1,300 boats across seven waterfront locations, rain or shine. Its FAQ leaves boarding to each boat’s exhibitor, manufacturer or broker and lists drones among the items not permitted inside, so a photographer shooting a boat at the show needs the broker’s go-ahead to step aboard and should leave the drone behind. Away from the show, aerials of a boat or a canal-front home sit under busy airspace: the FAA’s Fort Lauderdale Executive page describes Class D airspace up to 2,500 feet MSL beneath Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International’s Class C, and tells pilots to watch for drones authorized at or below 400 feet. Drone pilots get that permission through LAANC, which takes requests up to 90 days ahead and usually answers in near real time, and Film Lauderdale won’t add a drone to a permit without written FAA clearance, which the pilot can supply or the commission can arrange.

Every option, with pros and cons.

Mark Studios is a founder-led studio in Palm Beach County that photographs on location across Palm Beach, Broward and Martin counties; Fort Lauderdale is about 33 miles south of its headquarters. In the city that means yachts and boats dockside, from exterior lines and decks to salons, cabins, galleys and helms, for listings and brokerage; yards, docks, crews and facilities for marine businesses’ websites and recruiting; your boats, your stand and your guests at the boat show, delivered during the week or straight after; matching portraits for the law firms, advisors and corporate offices downtown; food, drinks, rooms and terraces for the restaurants and hotels on Las Olas and the beach; and speakers, sponsors and receptions at conferences. It photographs Fort Lauderdale weddings too. Every image is selected and retouched before delivery and sized for web and print, and video can be filmed on the same visit so the two share one look. In July 2026 Mark Studios photographed and filmed the Sovereign Self-Defense Keep America Armed gala in the ballroom at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, and cut the highlight reel, What Patriotism Looks Like in 2026. Closer to Fort Lauderdale, in February 2024 it filmed and photographed a wedding in Deerfield Beach, from a first look and a ceremony by the ocean to the reception, and delivered four films and the edited photos. Site figures: 10,000+ projects delivered, 4,500+ reviews, Top Rated on Fiverr with a 4.9★ rating, and 99% on-time delivery.

“It has completely changed the way that we do business,” says Samantha Borgos of Sovereign Self-Defense, whose gala Mark Studios photographed and filmed.

Pros

  • Boats photographed early, with the hull, the water and the interior light kept in balance
  • Access confirmed with the broker or captain and the marina before the shoot
  • Stills and a walkthrough film from one visit

Good to know

  • Not a family-portrait studio: no family, maternity, newborn or couples sessions (see the family and beach portraits group)
  • Priced by quote; no published photo prices
  • No walk-in studio; every shoot is on location
  • No published delivery time for photos; your quote sets it

Scope from our Fort Lauderdale photographer and Broward County photography pages; the gala is on our event videography page, the wedding on our wedding videography and photography page, and the quote on our reviews page.

Mark Studios doesn’t run these sessions. Each photographer here takes family, maternity or couples sessions in Fort Lauderdale, as its own site showed on October 23, 2026; Flytographer, a marketplace, comes last.

Andrea Harborne Photography

Best for: Bright family, maternity and couples sessions on Fort Lauderdale, Dania and Hollywood beaches at published prices

Model
Family, maternity and couples photographer with associates: published packages
Published price
$365 (30 minutes, 20 images); $395 (1 hour, unlimited images)
Stated delivery
2–3 weeks on average

Andrea Harborne calls herself a published family, maternity, lifestyle and couples photographer based in Fort Lauderdale, with a second base in Marietta, Georgia, and she shoots outdoors at Dania Beach, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hollywood and Pompano Beach, or in your home. Family sessions come in two published packages: the Signature Collection, $365 for 30 minutes with 20 high-resolution images, booked Monday to Friday only, and the Stylish Collection, $395 for an hour with unlimited images and an optional outfit change. Both cover five family members, at $15 for each extra person, and include a style guide and full printing rights. If she isn’t free on your date, one of her associate photographers takes the session and she edits the gallery herself so it matches her portfolio. Her FAQ puts delivery at two to three weeks on average and recommends the hour before sunset; there’s no indoor backup, so rain moves the session, and the retainer can transfer within 12 months.

Pros

  • Published packages with image counts
  • An hour with unlimited images for $395
  • Beach locations from Pompano Beach to Hollywood

Cons

  • The 30-minute package is weekdays only
  • An associate may photograph your session

Headshots Fort Lauderdale, run by SpiritLed Studios, photographs individuals in its Fort Lauderdale studio and takes the setup to offices, annual meetings, trade shows and conventions across Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. Its sessions are coached: the photographer draws out expression through conversation instead of stock poses, and you keep reviewing until one frame feels right. The Modern Session, $275, covers one look; the Signature Headshot Session, $475, leaves time to work through several. Companies can book a Company Picture Day at the workplace, with a set visual standard so later hires match the team page, and events a Convention Headshot Lounge; the site says it photographed about 400 attendees at the 2026 PRIMA convention. Retouching removes temporary distractions and keeps texture and character. Team and convention prices and delivery times aren’t published.

Teams of ten or more pay no travel fee, and a 15% deposit holds the date. How we built the Fort Lauderdale list.

Mark Studios is our pick, and we wrote this list. No provider paid to be listed. Our shoots are quoted per project.

Who's included
We built the list on October 23, 2026 from Fort Lauderdale sources we could read directly: Bonnet House’s preferred-vendor list, Zola’s Fort Lauderdale wedding photographers, Flytographer’s and Thumbtack’s Fort Lauderdale pages, and photographers’ own Fort Lauderdale pages. We kept the ones whose own sites say they are based in or serve the city and spell out what a session includes. That gave two family photographers with published prices plus Flytographer, two headshot photographers with Fort Lauderdale pages, two yacht photographers based in the city, two listing-photo companies with Fort Lauderdale pages, two wedding photographers and Thumbtack. We dropped Clay Wieland Photography, on the Bonnet House list, whose site now calls it a Concord, North Carolina photographer; Emily Harris Photography, also on that list, whose site carries a 2017 copyright and gives prices only by email; Rosina DiBello, a third Bonnet House name, whose homepage calls her an “Award Winning Greenville Wedding Photographer”; Tiny House Photo, listed on Zola in Fort Lauderdale but now photographing weddings in New York’s Hudson Valley; McKenzie Studios, whose site says it’s based in Miami; Lara Rose Photography, which splits its time between Michigan and Florida and shows no prices on its homepage; Light Sky Photography and Sweet Lime Photography, whose sites refused our requests on October 23; Fort Lauderdale Real Estate Photography, whose site has no prices and an unsourced block of sales statistics; Breed Media, a superyacht marketing studio whose site doesn’t say where it’s based; and South Florida Headshots, a Boca Raton studio. Jeff Kolodny Photography, also on the Bonnet House list, is on our Lake Worth Beach list, and AH360 Photography, V1 Real Estate Photography and Coronado Photo & Media are compared on our Fort Lauderdale videographers list. Zola is a directory, so it isn’t an entry.
What we checked
On October 23, 2026 we read each provider’s own pages for where it’s based, what it shoots, published prices, what a session includes and stated delivery, and read the Film Lauderdale, City of Fort Lauderdale, Bonnet House, boat show and FAA pages for the planning notes and the permit answers. The City of Fort Lauderdale’s parks website and the Florida State Parks pages refused our requests, so this page makes no claims about their rules. Where a provider’s own pages disagree, we say so.
How it's ordered
By kind of shoot: family and beach portraits; headshots and corporate; yachts and marine; real estate; weddings; then a marketplace. Alphabetical inside each group, except that Flytographer, a marketplace, comes last among the family options. Mark Studios is listed first as our pick; the others are not ranked against each other, and there are no scores.
What the data says

An hour of family photos in Fort Lauderdale costs $395 with Andrea Harborne, who includes every image, $450 with Golden Palm or $525 with Cassidy Kohlert, and shorter sessions start at $300 for Golden Palm’s mini and $365–$375 for 30 minutes; Flytographer’s half-hour vacation shoot is $325. Headshots run $275–$475 in a studio, or $59–$159 a person when a whole office is photographed on site. Listing photos start at $199–$225 and come back within a day. The two yacht specialists, like Mark Studios, quote each boat. For how a boat, business, event or wedding shoot with Mark works in the city, see our Fort Lauderdale photographer page; for video, our Fort Lauderdale videographers list.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best photographer in Fort Lauderdale?

For Fort Lauderdale yachts, marine businesses, offices, restaurants, events and weddings, our pick is Mark Studios: it photographs on location, edits every image in house and can film the same visit. For family photos, which Mark Studios doesn’t take, Andrea Harborne ($365 for 30 minutes, $395 for an hour) and Golden Palm Photography ($450 for an hour, files included) are both based in the city. For headshots, Headshots Fort Lauderdale has a studio in the city, and The Mobile Headshot photographs whole offices on site. For yachts, Forest Johnson or Jim Raycroft; for listings, Estate Shutter FL or Pinnacle Property Media; for weddings, Cassidy Kohlert or Melanie Anne.

How much does a photographer cost in Fort Lauderdale?

It depends on the shoot. From each provider’s own site on October 23, 2026: family sessions cost $365 for 30 minutes or $395 for an hour (Andrea Harborne), $450 for the first hour (Golden Palm Photography) and $375–$525 (Cassidy Kohlert), and Flytographer’s vacation shoots start at $325. Headshots cost $275–$475 in a studio (Headshots Fort Lauderdale) or $59–$159 a person at your office (The Mobile Headshot). Listing photos start at $199 (Estate Shutter FL) or $225 (Pinnacle Property Media), and weddings at $3,200 (Cassidy Kohlert), $3,800 (Golden Palm) or $6,800 (Melanie Anne). Thumbtack’s national average is $358. Mark Studios quotes each shoot.

How much do family beach photos cost in Fort Lauderdale?

Among the family photographers here: Andrea Harborne charges $365 for a 30-minute weekday session with 20 images and $395 for an hour with unlimited images, for up to five people plus $15 for each extra person; Golden Palm Photography charges $300 for a mini and $450 for the first hour, with every edited file included and the gallery within two weeks; Cassidy Kohlert’s half session is $375 with 40+ photos and her full session $525 with 80+; and Flytographer starts at $325 for 30 minutes, with Fort Lauderdale Beach Park its most-booked route. From March through October, plan to finish by sunset: turtle-season rules keep lights off the beach after dark.

Do I need a permit for a photo shoot in Fort Lauderdale?

Plan on one for a paid session on public property. Film Lauderdale, Broward County’s film commission, permits shoots on county property, parks included, and on behalf of most of the county’s 31 cities, and it publishes a FilmApp guide written for family portrait photographers. A standard request takes at least three business days and needs a certificate of insurance with at least $1,000,000 of general liability, and there’s no permit fee beyond cost recovery for services such as police or facility rentals. Most cities also require permits on private property, so ask the commission when you’re unsure. Bonnet House runs its own system: $30 a person, no permit.

Can we take photos at Bonnet House?

Yes. Bonnet House lets anyone pose for portraits in its courtyard and gardens, engagements, proposals, quinceañeras and maternity shoots included, for $30 a person paid at the Welcome Center, Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm, with no reservation. Wardrobe changes, garment bags and props aren’t allowed, tours come first, and posed portraits and tripods stay out of the exhibit rooms. Commercial photography needs a reservation and starts at $500 for five hours. Golden Palm Photography is on the estate’s preferred-vendor list.

Does Mark Studios do family portraits?

No. Mark Studios photographs Fort Lauderdale boats, businesses, events and weddings, including the family groups at a wedding, but it doesn’t run family, maternity, newborn or couples sessions. For those, use the family and beach portraits group above: Andrea Harborne, Golden Palm Photography or Flytographer, or Cassidy Kohlert, who takes family sessions alongside weddings. When a company event or a business shoot needs portraits of the team or the guests, Mark Studios takes them on the day.

Who photographs yachts in Fort Lauderdale?

Forest Johnson, based in Fort Lauderdale, has photographed boats full time since 1986, shoots aerials and is a licensed pilot and says his work has run on more than 1,700 magazine covers. Jim Raycroft, with studios in Boston and Fort Lauderdale, photographs superyachts from 65 to 295 feet, interiors included. Neither publishes prices. Mark Studios photographs boats dockside for listings and brokerage and can film the walkthrough on the same visit. At the boat show, October 28 to November 1, 2026, boarding a boat is up to its exhibitor or broker, and drones aren’t allowed inside.

How much do corporate headshots cost in Fort Lauderdale?

Headshots Fort Lauderdale charges $275 for a one-look Modern Session and $475 for its Signature session in its Fort Lauderdale studio, and quotes company picture days and convention lounges. The Mobile Headshot prices office days per person, from $139 each for two to four people down to $59 each for 51 or more with basic retouching, and charges no travel fee for ten or more. Golden Palm Photography lists on-site team headshots, three hours for up to 30 people, at $1,125. Mark Studios photographs teams at your office and quotes by headcount.

How much does real estate photography cost in Fort Lauderdale?

Estate Shutter FL starts at $199 for its Basic package and $399 for Standard, which adds a video walkthrough and drone photos and video, with galleries in 24 hours and no travel fee in Broward. Pinnacle Property Media’s Fort Lauderdale page starts at $225 for unlimited photos of up to 2,500 sq ft and $350 with aerials, a Zillow 3D tour and floor plans, delivered by noon the next day. Both price by square footage; checked October 23, 2026.
