Best-of list

Best photographers in Broward County, FL (2026)

Between Deerfield Beach and Hallandale Beach, and from the marinas of Fort Lauderdale west to Weston and Pembroke Pines, our pick for business, event, boat and wedding photos is Mark Studios: Mark photographs on location in any Broward city, can film video on the same visit, and edits every image himself, with a written quote for each shoot. Family and newborn sessions aren’t part of it, so fourteen more options follow, sorted by the kind of shoot they suit and tagged with the town each works from, and the By town section points to our Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood lists.

Before you read on: Mark Studios wrote this list and placed its own studio first, so it is a competitor’s guide rather than a neutral review. Each of the other cards rests on that provider’s own pages, read and dated on October 23, 2026 (how we compared).

Our pick

A shoot anywhere in Broward? Start with Mark Studios.

In Broward a photo job is as likely to be a yacht at a Fort Lauderdale marina or a canal-front listing as a law firm’s team page in Plantation, a conference in Hollywood or a wedding by the ocean in Deerfield Beach. Mark Studios photographs all of it on location, across the county, and the person who plans the shot list is the one taking the pictures and editing the set.

  • Businesses, events, boats and weddings, one studio. Office headshots and team photos, brand and workplace sets, products and menus, hotels, homes and commercial space, conferences, marine businesses dockside, and weddings, in any city from Deerfield Beach to Miramar.
  • Photos and film from the same visit. Add video to the booking and both come back with one look from one studio, every frame selected, color-corrected and cleaned up first.
  • Mark himself, quote to delivery. Top Rated on Fiverr, 4.9★, with 99% of orders delivered on time.

By town: our Broward photographer lists.

This page spans the whole county. When the shoot is in Fort Lauderdale or Hollywood, the city list goes further, with photographers based there, the local beaches, parks and venues, and each city’s own permit rules.

How a photo shoot with Mark runs in each town: Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Coral Springs and Pembroke Pines.

Photographing in Broward County: what to plan for.

Four things that shape a shoot almost anywhere in the county, from Film Lauderdale, Bonnet House and the FAA, all read October 23, 2026.

  1. Film Lauderdale: one office for most permits

Broward’s film commission, Film Lauderdale, issues permits for every kind of county property, parks among them, and acts for most of the county’s 31 municipalities, each of which can add rules of its own; most of those cities want a permit for private property too, so ask the commission when you aren’t sure. It keeps a separate guide for family portrait photographers using its online FilmApp. Before applying you need the confirmed spots, dates and times, a head count, a description of the session and a certificate of insurance naming the city where you shoot as certificate holder, and you list an emergency contact who will physically be at the session. Each shoot should get its own project name, such as a client’s name and month, or the final permit will carry every location you have ever had approved. Once an application is in the queue you can’t edit it; you email the commission to have it sent back. Under its permit requirements, most standard requests take at least three business days (offices close on weekends, holidays and, in some cities, Fridays), the policy has to carry $1,000,000 of general liability per claim, and there is no permit fee: the commission takes no payments, and the county or city bills only for special services such as police, road closures or facility rentals.

  2. Bonnet House: $30 a person, no props

The 1920s estate on the barrier island between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal welcomes portrait sessions in its courtyard and gardens for $30 per person, paid at the Welcome Center; the rule covers professionals, students and amateurs alike, for engagements, proposals, quinceañeras, communions, graduations and pregnancies. Plan around its limits: there is nowhere to change and no wardrobe changes are allowed, suitcases, garment bags and props of any kind are banned, tours come first and can interrupt a session, and access can be cut back without warning. Inside the exhibit rooms, only quick snapshots and selfies, no posed portraits or tripods. Self-guided hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm, and the house closes on Mondays, holidays and for the Fort Lauderdale Air Show. Commercial photography is booked separately, starting at $500 for five hours with fewer than five people. Its list of pre-approved wedding and event vendors, which the house says carries no warranty, names six photographers.

  3. Beach portraits in turtle season

From March 1 to October 31, Broward’s beaches are checked for sea turtle nests every day, but not every nest gets a marker, so Film Lauderdale’s turtle season conditions treat the whole beach as a possible nest site. No lights may be used on the sand before sunrise or after sunset, tripod feet can sink no more than six inches, small ruts and holes have to be raked smooth by hand, and nobody touches the dunes or their plants. If a session uncovers an unmarked nest or finds an injured turtle, everything stops and the local sea turtle monitor is called; knowingly disturbing a nest can bring civil penalties up to $25,000 under the state’s Marine Turtle Protection Act. Daylight lighting is allowed, so the practical plan is a session that ends at sunset, and from November through February these conditions don’t apply.

  4. Drones under FLL’s Class C

The FAA’s record for Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International (FLL) places it 3 miles from Fort Lauderdale with a tower open around the clock and Class C airspace, and Fort Lauderdale Executive, 7 miles to the north, sits in Class D airspace with a 2,500-foot ceiling beneath FLL’s Class C, so aerials flown near either airport need an airspace authorization first. Through LAANC, a Part 107 pilot can request one up to 90 days before the flight and get near-real-time answers at the altitudes on the FAA’s facility maps; FAADroneZone requests have historically taken up to eight weeks. Film Lauderdale won’t list a drone on a permit without written FAA clearance, and asks for the FAA’s information request form, a copy of the pilot’s license, proof of recency if it was issued more than 24 months before the shoot, the drone’s registration and LAANC approval for flights at or below 400 feet in Class B, C, D or E airspace. Its portrait guide adds that a drone on a portrait permit means disclosing where, when and at what time it will fly, though the pilot may get FAA clearance directly.

Set in your quote

Mark Studios is a founder-led photo and video studio based in Palm Beach County, and in Broward Mark photographs on location anywhere in the county, from Deerfield Beach and Pompano Beach on the coast to Coral Springs, Sunrise, Weston and Miramar inland. The Broward work covers matching headshots for leadership and staff, set up at your office; brand and workplace pictures of your people, your space and your process; products with accurate color and clean backgrounds for e-commerce, catalogues, menus and ads; hotel rooms, restaurants, condos, homes and commercial space for bookings, listings and leasing; speakers, sponsors, guests and the room itself at conferences and events; and boats, marinas and marine businesses, photographed dockside. Broward weddings are part of it too, with the films and the photos from one booking. Mark picks the strongest frames, corrects the color, cleans up distractions and matches the set before anything is delivered, sized for web, social and print, and filming can be added to the same day so stills and footage share a look. In July 2026 he photographed and filmed the Keep America Armed gala for Sovereign Self-Defense in the ballroom at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, then cut the highlight reel, What Patriotism Looks Like in 2026. Inside Broward, a February 2024 wedding in Deerfield Beach, from the first look and an oceanside ceremony through the reception, went back to the couple as four edited films with the photo set. The studio’s numbers: 10,000+ projects delivered, 4,500+ reviews, Top Rated on Fiverr at 4.9★, and 99% of orders on time.

From Samantha Borgos of Sovereign Self-Defense, after the gala Mark photographed and filmed: “It has completely changed the way that we do business.”

Family, newborn and beach portraits

Mark Studios doesn’t take family, newborn, maternity or couples sessions, so these two photographers lead for them. Three others on this list photograph families as well: PhotographybyLuigi in Weston through its family brand (see its card, $375–$695), Cassidy Kohlert in her $375 and $525 sessions (card), and Jeff Kolodny (card).

Andrea Harborne Photography

Best for: Golden-hour family and maternity sessions on the sand from Pompano Beach down to Dania Beach and Hollywood

Model
Fort Lauderdale family, maternity and couples photographer with associate shooters: two family packages
Published price
$365 (30 min, 20 images, weekdays); $395 (1 hour, unlimited images)
Stated delivery
About 2–3 weeks

Andrea Harborne is a Fort Lauderdale photographer (her pricing page also names Marietta, Georgia) whose work splits between families, maternity, couples and corporate lifestyle shoots. Her Fort Lauderdale page sends sessions to four stretches of coast: Pompano Beach, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Dania Beach and Hollywood. Families choose between two packages that each cover five people, with $15 for every extra person. The Signature Collection is $365 and runs 30 minutes on a weekday for 20 high-resolution images; the Stylish Collection is $395 for a full hour with no cap on images and an outfit change if you want one. Both come with a portrait style guide for planning the session and the outfits, a private gallery to share, and full printing rights. Her FAQ points families to the 60 minutes before sunset, has no indoor fallback, so rain means a new date (the retainer carries over for 12 months), and says galleries take two to three weeks on average. If she is busy on your date, one of her associates photographs the session and she edits it herself.

Pros

  • Image counts and prices on one page
  • Four Broward beaches to choose from
  • Full printing rights in both packages

Cons

  • The $365 package is Monday to Friday only
  • No indoor backup when it rains

Mini $300; 1 hour $450; newborn at home $850; Fresh 48 $550

The towns it names reach across most of Broward, from Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs and Parkland to Plantation, Sunrise, Davie, Weston, Cooper City, Miramar and Pembroke Pines, and there is no travel fee inside Broward, Miami-Dade or Palm Beach. Family pricing follows one formula: $300 for a 20-minute mini with 15 edited images, $450 for an hour with 60 or more, and $825 for two hours with 100 or more and a $150 print credit. Babies get their own lines: a newborn session at home lasting up to three hours is $850, maternity and newborn booked together $1,200, a Fresh 48 session at the hospital during the first two days $550, and a plan of three sessions across the first year $1,300. Model
Fort Lauderdale headshot studio run by SpiritLed Studios: individual session prices published
Published price
Modern Session $275 (one look); Signature Headshot Session $475
Stated delivery
Not stated

Headshots Fort Lauderdale belongs to SpiritLed Studios and keeps a studio in Fort Lauderdale, from which it travels to offices, annual meetings, trade shows, conferences and conventions in Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties. Its offer comes in three forms. Event leaders and sponsors can bring in a Convention Headshot Lounge, an attendee perk with branded galleries and, if wanted, participation and delivery metrics; at the 2026 PRIMA convention the site says it photographed roughly 400 people. Companies can schedule a Company Picture Day at the workplace, with a fixed visual standard so that hires who join later still match the team page. And individuals book the studio: the $275 Modern Session covers one look, while the $475 Signature Headshot Session leaves time for several. Every sitting runs through the same five steps, starting with what the photo is for, coaching expression through conversation instead of stock poses, reviewing frames until the sitter is happy and retouching without erasing character. Lounge and team prices aren’t published.

Pros

  • Made for conventions and sponsor activations
  • A set standard so new hires match
  • Studio prices listed for individuals

Cons

  • Team and lounge pricing by quote
  • No delivery time on the site

Dov Gurewicz has been photographing and filming around South Florida since 2017. His photography page names Hollywood, Miami and Fort Lauderdale as home base, and his studio is in Davie, where he shoots headshots and portraits when they aren’t done on location. The photo work he lists runs from weddings and engagements, headshots and portraits to listings, product and brand photos, parties and corporate events, dishes and restaurant interiors, travel, and drone aerials for property and events; one case study on his site follows an engagement session at the Dania Beach Pier, and his Hollywood projects include Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory and the Shorashim youth center. He directs every project and is usually the one behind the camera. For a smaller budget, a vetted crew can shoot while he directs and edits, and he asks for the budget in your first message so he can say which route fits. Clients who need video too can book both, so one day covers stills and film. Reviews quoted on his photo page describe choosing and editing a headshot together in the studio.

Pros

  • Stills, film and drone from one person
  • A Davie studio for headshots
  • A crew option for tighter budgets

Cons

  • No prices on his site
  • No stated delivery time

Forest Johnson was born in Miami, is based in Fort Lauderdale and has lived around boats his whole life: his father designed and built Prowler boats, and after his father’s death in 1971 he ran the business and photographed its boats himself. He then spent eight years as advertising and sales promotion manager at Bertram Yacht before turning full time to location and aerial photography for the marine industry in 1986. He counts more than 1,700 magazine covers and the Bahamas’ Cacique award as International Photographer of the Year, and his homepage carries a note from Boating Magazine’s publisher saying the magazine used him for almost two decades. His galleries move from small and large boats to superyachts and their interiors, with lifestyle, scenic and special-event work besides, and he shoots film as well as stills. He is a licensed pilot and certified scuba diver with BOSIET offshore training. Appointments go through his contact form or by phone, and stock images can be requested.

Fort Lauderdale page: $225 Essential, $350 Complete, $900 Luxury (to 2,500 sq ft)
Stated delivery
By 12 p.m. the next day

Pinnacle Property Media lists a Broward office on Cordova Road in Fort Lauderdale, takes appointments seven days a week with next-day slots often open, and writes its city page for Realtors, luxury agents, builders and owners selling waterfront and yacht-access homes, where the dock and the route to open water carry the listing. That page prices three packages for homes up to 2,500 sq ft. Essential Photography, $225, includes as many useful photos as the property warrants instead of a 25-, 35- or 50-image limit, plus blue-sky and TV-screen replacement. The Complete Marketing Package, $350, adds its GeoContext aerial photos, a Zillow 3D tour and a floor plan. Luxury Marketing, $900, layers on aerial video, a property film, a vertical reel and real twilight photos. Standard media lands by noon the following day. Its separate pricing page, read the same afternoon, starts an Essential package with aerials at $300 for up to 2,000 sq ft, so check which package and size band you are booking.

  • No fixed limit on photo count
  • Media by noon the next day
  • Twilight, 3D and film from one visit

Stated delivery
Not stated

Jeff Kolodny is another of the six photographers on Bonnet House’s preferred wedding and event vendor list. His About page says only that the studio is based in South Florida, and his homepage names Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade as the counties he works; the WeddingWire listing linked from his contact page files him under Boynton Beach. He studied communications and photography at Adelphi University, learned the wedding trade at a Los Angeles portrait studio and printed for a Burbank photo lab, and founded Jeff Kolodny Photography & Video in 1993 before settling in South Florida. His pricing page is more open than most: wedding coverage starts at $1,500, most couples spend about $5,000 and some go past $7,500; mitzvah coverage starts at $2,000; event photography begins at $600, and he puts a small elopement at $600 to $1,500. Beyond weddings he covers conventions, trade shows and team-building days, headshots, senior and family portraits, and marriage proposals.

Pros

  • Starting prices and typical spend published
  • Weddings, mitzvahs and company events

Marketplace of independent photographers, Pembroke Pines portrait page: free to use
Published price
National averages: portraits $277 ($212–$362); any photography $358
Stated delivery
Set by each pro

For the western suburbs we read Thumbtack’s portrait photographer page for Pembroke Pines, which counted 8 five-star portrait photographers in the city on the platform and let you narrow the field by budget (under $125, or $125–$200, for short shoots), by family or children’s portraits, by style and by whether you go to the pro or the pro comes to you. Asking for estimates, messaging pros and booking all cost nothing. Thumbtack’s photographer cost guide gives national averages of $277 for portrait photography (typically $212–$362), $304 for headshots and $358 for photography of any kind ($265–$483), with $164 as the average hourly rate, and the Pembroke Pines page puts family photographers at $150–$200 on average nationwide. Image counts, editing and delivery are up to each pro, so compare those along with the price.

Pros

  • Several quotes from one request
  • Budget filters for short sessions
  • The lowest typical spend here

Cons

  • Prices are national averages, not Broward ones
  • Quality varies from pro to pro

A starting price on each profile ($999–$5,500 on the first page)
Stated delivery
Set by each photographer

Zola’s directory of wedding photographers for Fort Lauderdale showed 969 listings when we checked, sorted by distance, with filters for price, for photographers based in the city versus those who travel in (and whether travel costs extra), for style (classic, editorial, fine art or photojournalistic), for film, digital or hybrid, and for services such as drone photography, engagement sessions, a second photographer or same-day edits. Each profile carries a starting price; across the first page those ran from $999 to $5,500, and Cassidy Kohlert’s listing matches the $3,200 on her own site. Ratings combine Zola and Google reviews, and the page links an explanation of how sponsored ads and personalized results shape the order.

Pros

  • Starting prices side by side
  • A filter for local or traveling photographers
  • Style and film filters

Cons

  • Sponsored ads can affect the order
  • A starting price isn’t a full quote

How we built the Broward County photographer list.

Mark Studios wrote this list and lists itself first. Nobody paid for a place on it, and our own shoots are priced by quote.

Who’s included
Photographers, studios and two marketplaces that are based in Broward or work across it, sorted by the kind of shoot they take. We built it on October 23, 2026 from pages we could read directly: the photographers on our Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood lists, the six photographers on Bonnet House’s preferred vendor list, Zola’s Fort Lauderdale directory, and leads we checked on each provider’s own site. Several also appear on our city lists; their cards here are written for the county as a whole. From the Bonnet House list we left out Clay Wieland Photography, whose site now describes a studio in Concord, North Carolina; Caitie Gallet’s Snapback Films, whose site is still a placeholder with no session details; Emily Harris Photography, which gives prices only by email on a site last dated 2017; and Rosina DiBello, whose home and contact pages named neither a town nor a price. We also passed on the JCPenney Portraits studio at Broward Mall in Plantation, whose page loaded but showed only a booking widget, with no hours or sign that the studio is open, and on Lara Rose Photography, which Zola lists in Fort Lauderdale but whose own site splits her work between Michigan and Florida. The Mobile Headshot, Simona Solomon, Elegant Photographics, Real Estate Captured, Melanie Anne and Flytographer are on our Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood lists. Yelp and The Knot are directories, so Thumbtack and Zola are the marketplaces here.
What we checked
On October 23, 2026 we read each provider’s own pages for where it works from, the sessions it offers, published prices, what a booking includes and stated delivery, plus Thumbtack’s Pembroke Pines portrait page and cost guide and Zola’s Fort Lauderdale directory. For the planning notes we read Film Lauderdale’s portrait photographers guide and its permit, sea turtle and drone pages, Bonnet House’s film and photography and preferred vendor pages, and the FAA’s FLL and Fort Lauderdale Executive records and Part 107 authorization page. Where a provider’s pages disagree, as Pinnacle’s two price lists do, we say so.
How it’s ordered
By kind of shoot: family, newborn and beach portraits; headshots and teams; branding and business; yachts and marine; real estate; weddings; then the marketplaces, alphabetical within each group. Mark Studios comes first because it is our pick; nobody else is ranked or scored.
What the data says

The cheapest published starting points in Broward are listing photos at $199 with Estate Shutter FL and $225 with Pinnacle, and a same-day headshot at $185 with PhotographybyLuigi. Family photos start at $300 for a mini with Golden Palm and $365 with Andrea Harborne, and a newborn session at home is $850. Coached studio headshots run $275 to $650, an office team $175 to $450 a person at Chris Headshots, and weddings start at $1,500 with Jeff Kolodny and $3,200 with Cassidy Kohlert. Thumbtack’s national average for portrait photography is $277. The marine specialists quote every job. For how a shoot with Mark runs here, see our Broward County photography page.

Frequently asked questions

Who is the best photographer in Broward County?

For business, event, boat and wedding photos, Mark Studios: Mark photographs on location anywhere in Broward, from Deerfield Beach to Miramar, can film video on the same visit, edits every image himself and quotes each shoot in writing, and Mark Studios is Top Rated on Fiverr at 4.9★ with 99% of orders on time. It doesn’t run family or newborn sessions. By kind of shoot, the others here are Andrea Harborne Photography or Golden Palm Photography for family, newborn and beach portraits; Chris Headshots or Headshots Fort Lauderdale for headshots and teams; Dov Gurewicz or PhotographybyLuigi for brand and business photos; Forest Johnson or Jim Raycroft for yachts; Estate Shutter FL or Pinnacle Property Media for listings; Cassidy Kohlert Photo or Jeff Kolodny Photography for weddings; and Thumbtack or Zola to compare quotes.

How much does a photographer cost in Broward County?

On the photographers’ own pages on October 23, 2026: listing photos start at $199 at Estate Shutter FL and $225 at Pinnacle Property Media; a headshot is $185 at PhotographybyLuigi in Weston, $275 or $475 at Headshots Fort Lauderdale and $450 at Chris Headshots, whose on-site team rate runs $175–$450 a person; a family session is $365 or $395 at Andrea Harborne and $300 for a mini or $450 for an hour at Golden Palm, where an in-home newborn session is $850; family portraits at FamilyPhotosbyLuigi run $375–$695; and weddings start at $1,500 with Jeff Kolodny (most of his couples spend about $5,000) and $3,200 with Cassidy Kohlert. Thumbtack’s national average for portrait photography is $277. Dov Gurewicz, Forest Johnson and Jim Raycroft quote each job, as does Mark Studios.

Do I need a permit for a family photo session in a Broward park?

Plan on applying for one. Film Lauderdale, Broward’s film commission, permits shoots on all county property, parks included, and on behalf of most of the county’s 31 cities, and most of those cities want a permit for private property as well. It publishes a step-by-step guide written for family portrait photographers using its online FilmApp: you need confirmed locations, dates and times, a crew count, a certificate of insurance with that city as certificate holder, and an emergency contact who will be at the shoot, and each session should get its own project name. Standard requests need at least three business days, the policy needs $1,000,000 of general liability, and there is no permit fee beyond cost recovery for services such as police; the commission itself takes no payments.

Can we take family or engagement photos at Bonnet House?

Yes. Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale lets anyone be photographed in its courtyard and gardens, whether for an engagement, a proposal, a quinceañera, a graduation or a pregnancy, for $30 a person, paid at the Welcome Center during its self-guided hours, Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm. There are no changing facilities, no outfit changes, and no suitcases, garment bags or props; tours take priority, access can be limited without notice, and only quick snapshots are allowed in the exhibit rooms. The house closes on Mondays, holidays and for the Fort Lauderdale Air Show. Commercial shoots are booked separately, from $500 for five hours with fewer than five people.

Can I book a beach photo session in Broward during sea turtle season?

Yes, in daylight. Sea turtle nesting season runs March 1 to October 31, and Film Lauderdale’s standard conditions for beach shoots then ban lights on the sand before sunrise or after sunset, keep tripod legs to six inches in the sand, and keep everyone off the dunes and their plants; if an unmarked nest turns up, the shoot stops and the local sea turtle monitor is called. Lights during the day are fine, so a sunset session that wraps as the sun goes down works, and from November through February the season’s conditions don’t apply.

Who photographs newborns and families in Broward County?

Golden Palm Photography in Fort Lauderdale prices an in-home newborn session at $850, a Fresh 48 hospital session at $550 and an hour of family photos at $450, with every file included; Andrea Harborne photographs families on Broward’s beaches for $365 or $395; FamilyPhotosbyLuigi in Weston sells family portrait packages from $375 to $695; and Cassidy Kohlert’s $375 and $525 sessions cover newborns, maternity and families too. Mark Studios doesn’t take family, newborn, maternity or couples sessions; for more choice, see our Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood photographer lists.

Can I fly a drone for listing or event photos near Fort Lauderdale?

Yes, with FAA clearance first. Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International (FLL), 3 miles from Fort Lauderdale, has a control tower open 24 hours and Class C airspace. A Part 107 pilot can ask for LAANC approval up to 90 days ahead and often gets an answer in near real time at the altitudes on the FAA’s facility maps; requests through FAADroneZone have historically taken up to eight weeks. Film Lauderdale won’t put a drone on a permit without written FAA clearance, and asks for a copy of the pilot’s license, proof of recency if it is more than 24 months old, the drone’s registration and LAANC approval for flights at or below 400 feet in Class B, C, D or E airspace.

Does Mark Studios photograph weddings in Broward County?

Yes. Broward weddings are part of the work, with the films and the photos from one booking: in February 2024 Mark filmed and photographed a wedding in Deerfield Beach, from the first look and an oceanside ceremony to the reception, and delivered four edited films and the photo set. Each wedding is quoted in writing. See wedding videography and photography, or the two wedding photographers above for photo-only coverage.
