How Much Do Motion Graphics Cost in 2026? Prices per Element, Package and Minute

The Short Answer: Motion Graphics Cost in 2026

Motion graphics cost about $90–$250 for a typical business piece from a Fiverr freelancer and $40–$120 for a basic logo animation, according to Fiverr's August 2026 animation cost guide. A whole motion graphics video from a professional studio runs $7,000–$18,000 per finished minute (Yum Yum Videos). Vetted motion designers on Fiverr Pro list starting prices of $100–$1,800 a project.

Some Fiverr links on this page are affiliate links: Mark Studios may earn a commission if you buy through them, at no cost to you.

Those are market numbers, not ours: Mark Studios' own prices (monthly plans, or an instant quote for a single video) are on our pricing page, not here. Every figure links to the page that published it, checked October 18, 2026.

The range is wide because "motion graphics" names three different purchases. A lower third dropped into an edit, a set of branded templates and a 90-second product video are all motion graphics, and they're priced in different units.

Read the studio rows with two caveats. Yum Yum Videos sells animation itself; its tiers draw on its own projects and on 61 usable quotes it collected from studios for the same 60-second brief, with a median of $9,680. And LottieFiles' summary was last updated in January 2024. It also cites Clutch for a typical US studio minimum of about $5,000 a project, with smaller studios starting around $1,000.

Hiring in-house is the other route. The Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the median for special effects artists and animators at $102,030 a year (May 2025), roughly $49 an hour before benefits. That only pays off with a steady queue of work. Our motion graphics statistics page has the full pay and jobs data.

Per Element, per Package or per Minute

Motion graphics are priced in three units: per element (a lower third, title, callout or chart inside an edit), per package (templates built once in your brand and reused on every video) and per finished minute (a whole video made of motion). Compare quotes in the same unit.
Motion graphics are priced in three units: per element (a lower third, title, callout or chart inside an edit), per package (templates built once in your brand and reused on every video) and per finished minute (a whole video made of motion). Compare quotes in the same unit.

Before you compare two quotes, check they're counting the same thing.

  • Per element. A lower third, an animated title, a callout or a chart added to a video that already exists. Fiverr's $90–$250 band and its $40–$120 logo reveals sit here. If an editor is already cutting the video, ask for graphics priced as a count per video inside the edit.
  • Per package. A set of templates built once in your brand: lower third, title card, transition, end card. It costs more up front and less on every video after it. In our guide to when motion graphics earn their place, we argue for eight parameterised templates over eighty one-off animations for exactly this reason.
  • Per finished minute. A video made of motion from start to finish: an explainer, a product walkthrough, a data story. Studio rates apply. If it needs characters, read what an animated explainer video costs instead, and for a channel opener, what a YouTube intro costs.

What does the extra money buy? School of Motion tested it in 2018 by sending one logo-animation brief to three designers (the experiment). A $7 Fiverr gig came back in 24 hours, a $150 Upwork freelancer took 7 days and a $1,000 professional freelancer took 6. The $1,000 designer was the one who asked for a vector logo instead of the PNG he'd been sent, and his was the only version whose added elements, in School of Motion's judgement, fit the brand.

What Moves the Price

Four things that move a motion graphics quote: rush delivery adds 20–50% and unlimited revisions 25–40% (Fiverr's guide), flat shapes cost 30–50% less than character animation, and 3D runs $15,000–$40,000 or more per minute at a professional studio (Yum Yum Videos).

  1. Template or custom. Fiverr's guide puts flat motion graphics with simple shapes 30 to 50 percent below character-driven work, and says fully custom work costs significantly more than template-based projects.
  2. Length. Most animators charge per second or per finished minute. On Fiverr, a 15-second logo animation runs $70–$120 and a 60-second explainer $200–$400.
  3. 2D or 3D. Yum Yum Videos prices 3D at $15,000–$40,000 or more per minute, against $7,000–$18,000 for motion graphics, because each object has to be modelled, textured, lit, animated and rendered.
  4. Revisions. Fixed-price packages on Fiverr typically include two to three rounds. Unlimited-revision packages cost 25 to 40 percent more.
  5. Rush. Fiverr's guide puts standard turnaround for a 30-second animation at 5 to 10 business days, and rush delivery at 20 to 50 percent above standard.
  6. Your brand kit. A vector logo, brand fonts and hex colours save design time. Without them, someone has to rebuild your logo before it can move.

How to Get an Accurate Motion Graphics Quote

Send these with your first message and every quote you get back will price the same job:

  1. Name the unit. Elements inside an edit, a template package, or a full video.
  2. Count it. Graphics per video and videos per month, or the finished length in seconds.
  3. Send one reference, with timestamps on the look you want.
  4. Attach your brand kit: a vector logo (SVG, AI or EPS), fonts and hex colours.
  5. Say where it runs: 16:9, 9:16 or both, and whether you need transparent files to drop into your own edits.
  6. Ask what's included: revision rounds, source files, music and sound effects, and the rush fee.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a motion graphics designer charge per hour?

About $18–$35 an hour at the median on Upwork, as LottieFiles reported it, and $37–$50 an hour for 2D animation work on Fiverr, per Fiverr's 2026 cost guide. Experienced motion designers charge $100 an hour or more. A salaried US animator earned a median $102,030 a year in May 2025, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, roughly $49 an hour before benefits.

How much does a logo animation cost?

A basic 5–10-second logo animation costs about $40–$120 from a Fiverr freelancer, according to Fiverr's 2026 animation cost guide, and the best-selling logo animation gigs on Fiverr start at $5 to $500. A reveal designed around your brand by a vetted motion designer costs more than a template with your logo dropped in. Send a vector logo file to get an accurate quote.

How much does it cost to add motion graphics to a video?

Usually a price per element on top of the edit. Fiverr's 2026 cost guide puts typical business motion graphics at $90–$250 a piece. Lower thirds, titles and callouts built once as branded templates cost more up front and less on every video after that. Ask each editor to quote graphics as a count per video, so two quotes price the same work.

Are motion graphics cheaper than animation?

Usually, yes. Fiverr's 2026 cost guide says flat motion graphics with simple shapes cost 30 to 50 percent less than character-driven animation, because no characters have to be designed and rigged. At professional studios the gap is smaller: Yum Yum Videos puts motion graphics at $7,000–$18,000 per finished minute, 2D animation at $5,000–$25,000 and 3D at $15,000–$40,000 or more.

How long does it take to make motion graphics?

Days for a short piece, weeks for a full video. Fiverr's 2026 cost guide puts standard turnaround for a 30-second animation at 5 to 10 business days, with rush delivery costing 20 to 50 percent more. Yum Yum Videos reported a median estimated production time of seven weeks across the studio quotes it collected for a 60-second custom animated video.

Should I buy motion graphics templates or hire a designer?

Templates if a generic look is fine and someone on your side can customise them in After Effects; a designer if the graphics have to look like your brand. Envato Elements costs $16.50 a month on an annual plan and After Effects US$22.99 a month, but you supply the hours. A designer builds a branded set once, and every later video reuses it.
