Best-of list

Best photographers in Palm Beach Gardens, FL (2026)

For a gala, a company, a club or a wedding in Palm Beach Gardens, our pick is Mark Studios, which photographed and filmed a ballroom gala at PGA National Resort in July 2026; Mark comes to your venue or office, edits every photo in house, and quotes each shoot in writing. For a family or newborn session, which Mark Studios doesn’t run, three photographers are based in the Gardens: Svetlana Leone, who publishes prices from $595 for a family session, Vasi Studio and Karen Byer.

How this list works: Mark Studios publishes it and ranks its own service, so this is not an independent review. Every other option’s facts come from its own site, with the date we checked (how we compared).

Our pick

For Palm Beach Gardens galas, offices, clubs and weddings, hire Mark Studios.

Much of what gets photographed in the Gardens happens in a resort ballroom, a clubhouse or an office along PGA Boulevard: benefit galas, member nights, leadership portraits, a medical team’s new hires. Mark Studios photographs that work on location, and can film it on the same visit. Family, newborn and couples sessions aren’t part of it; the photographers who run them have their own group below.

  • Proof in the Gardens. A gala for Sovereign Self-Defense in the PGA National Resort ballroom in July 2026, photographed through the night and filmed for a highlight reel.
  • Photos and film on one booking. Add video and the same studio shoots and edits both, so the stills and the footage share one look.
  • Mark answers you himself. Top Rated on Fiverr, 4.9★ across 8,000+ orders, 99% delivered on time.

Photographing in Palm Beach Gardens: what to plan for.

Four things to settle before a photo session or a commercial shoot in and around the Gardens, from the county’s parks, natural areas and film commission pages, the City’s event rules and The Gardens Mall’s code of conduct, read October 23, 2026.

  1. A paid session in a county park needs a permit

Palm Beach County lets anyone take personal photos on park paths and picnic areas from sunrise to sunset, but a business photographing a private session there, whether a family portrait, an engagement, a proposal or a birthday, needs the county’s photography permit. A daily permit is $50 plus tax for one session of up to three hours at one park; an annual permit is $150 plus tax, runs January 1 to December 31 and covers one photographer, still limited to three hours a day per park. Allow five business days. Juno Beach Park, the county’s 6.28-acre beach park on U.S. 1 in Juno Beach, keeps the same sunrise-to-sunset hours and bans balloons to protect sea turtles, and construction to refurbish its 990-foot pier was set to start on June 1, 2026, so check the park’s notices before planning a session there.

  2. Frenchman’s Forest is a natural area, not a park

Frenchman’s Forest Natural Area, 172 acres at 12201 Prosperity Farms Road in Palm Beach Gardens, is open sunrise to sunset every day of the year, with a paved 0.4-mile Blazing Star Trail, sandy trails, a boardwalk through cypress swamp and an observation platform over tidal swamp. The county’s Environmental Resources Management department runs it rather than the parks department, and says every part of the site is habitat for at least one rare or endangered plant or animal. Its page says nothing about photo sessions, so ask that department before booking a paid shoot there, and keep to the trails and boardwalk.

  3. Photos for ads and magazines go through the film commission

If the pictures will appear in an advertisement, a catalog, a calendar, a guidebook or a magazine, the county treats the shoot as commercial and sends it to the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission. The commission permits work on public property, parks, beaches, streets, sidewalks and public buildings, at no charge, asks for three business days for a standard permit and a $1 million general liability policy, and works with each city on your behalf. It doesn’t issue permits for the Town of Palm Beach, so a commercial shoot on the island, Worth Avenue included, is arranged with the Town directly.

  4. City events and The Gardens Mall have their own rules

An event on City of Palm Beach Gardens property, such as a tournament, a fitness class or a festival in a park, needs a public assembly permit from the City, requested 60 days ahead for a routine Level 1 event or 90 days ahead for a Level 2 or 3 event open to the public. The City’s rules for those permits don’t mention portrait sessions, so ask its Recreation Department before photographing paying clients in a City park. The Gardens Mall welcomes personal photos and video, social media included, but doesn’t let a photographer film or approach its guests or staff, and it sends professional or commercial photography, recording and drone requests to the Marketing Department in the Mall Management Office.

Every option, with pros and cons.

Mark Studios has already worked a Palm Beach Gardens ballroom. On July 2, 2026 it photographed Sovereign Self-Defense’s Keep America Armed gala at PGA National Resort, the guests through the night, the awards and the band, filmed the same evening, and cut the highlight reel, What Patriotism Looks Like in 2026, so the host got the event photos and the film from one booking. The studio is founder-led, from Palm Beach County, and shoots on location across the Gardens, the rest of the county, and Broward and Martin counties. In the Gardens that means galas and corporate events in resort and club ballrooms, matching headshots for leadership and staff at your offices, medical and life-science teams and their facilities, golf courses, clubhouses and members’ events, homes and community amenities, products for catalogs and trade shows, and weddings. Video can join any of those bookings, and every photo is selected, color-corrected and cleaned up before you get it. In February 2024 it covered a Deerfield Beach wedding in film and photos, from the first look and the oceanside ceremony to the reception, and delivered four films with the edited photos. The site’s figures: 10,000+ projects delivered, 4,500+ reviews, Top Rated on Fiverr with a 4.9★ rating, and 99% on-time delivery.

“It has completely changed the way that we do business,” says Samantha Borgos of Sovereign Self-Defense, the host of the PGA National gala.

Pros

  • Has photographed a ballroom gala at PGA National Resort
  • Stills and video from one booking, edited by one studio
  • Comes to your office, club, course or venue in the Gardens

Good to know

  • Not a family-portrait studio: no family, maternity, newborn or couples sessions (see the family and portrait group)
  • Priced by written quote; no published photo prices
  • No studio to visit; every shoot happens on location
  • No published delivery time for photos; your quote sets it

Mark Studios doesn’t run family sessions. These four photograph families, newborns and portraits in or around the Gardens, as their own sites read on October 23, 2026; three are based in the city.

Not stated; online preview gallery

Alex Karl calls herself a motherhood photographer, a native Floridian who took up that work in 2009 and has run Alex Karl Photography from Palm Beach since 2012; her blog posts list Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach and Jupiter among the towns she photographs, with newborn sessions in Jupiter and Tequesta. Mothers are meant to be in the pictures, and Signature and Collective clients borrow from a curated studio wardrobe of dresses for mom and clothes for the children, then shoot on a beach, in a field or at home. Her investment page prices a 20-minute Simplicity session for milestones, holiday cards or a short maternity shoot at $675 (it lists 10 digital images in one place and 5 in another), a Signature session at $1,250 for an hour, or two hours for a newborn, with 40 hand-edited images, and a Motherhood Collective of three sessions over 15 months for $900, with files and prints bought separately from $850. She also sells linen albums, framed fine art prints and birth announcements, and speaks English and Spanish.

Pros

  • Published session prices
  • A wardrobe for mothers and children
  • A three-session plan for a baby’s first year

Cons

  • Based in Palm Beach, not in the Gardens
  • The Collective’s files and prints cost extra, and its page gives two image counts for the shortest session

How we built the Palm Beach Gardens list.

Mark Studios is our pick, and we wrote this list. Nobody paid to be on it. Our shoots are quoted per project.

Who's included
We searched Brave Search on October 23, 2026 for family, newborn, maternity, headshot, corporate event and golf event photographers in Palm Beach Gardens and read Thumbtack’s Palm Beach Gardens photographer and headshot pages, then kept photographers whose own sites put them in the Gardens or name it as a place they work. Svetlana Leone, Vasi Studio, Karen Byer, Paul Marino and Ed Zak are based in the city; Alex Karl lists it among her towns from Palm Beach; Eric Campbell has a page for Gardens offices from Fort Lauderdale; Tracey Benson names The Gardens Mall and Carrier among her clients; and Capehart photographs society events from Palm Beach island and says it has done so for more than 40 years. We left out BEseen Photography, whose Palm Beach Gardens family page is general copy with no session details, prices or delivery times; Creative Klick, whose Palm Beach Gardens headshot page says “at our studio in Palm Beach Gardens” while its Boca Raton, Jupiter and Wellington pages say the same of their own towns; Jess McGillicuddy Photography, which still appears in searches for Palm Beach family photographers but whose site now says it is based in Charlottesville, Virginia; and Fortson Photography, a South Florida golf-tournament and corporate-event photographer whose pages showed us no readable content beyond their titles. Headshot-only studios with Gardens pages, such as Maicol Photography, are on our headshot list.
What we checked
On October 23, 2026 we read each photographer’s own site for where it works from, the sessions it offers, published prices, delivery and what a session includes, and Thumbtack’s cost guide for the national averages. For the planning section we read Palm Beach County’s photography-permit and Juno Beach Park pages, the county’s Frenchman’s Forest page, the county film commission’s permitting page, the City of Palm Beach Gardens’ public assembly permitting rules and The Gardens Mall’s code of conduct. Where a site’s own pages disagree, we say so.
How it's ordered
By kind of shoot: family and portrait; headshots and corporate teams; golf, club and gala events; weddings; then a marketplace. Alphabetical inside each group. Mark Studios is listed first as our pick; the others are not ranked against each other, and there are no scores.
What the data says

Among the photographers here that publish prices, a family session in or near the Gardens costs $595 for 75 minutes with Svetlana Leone and $675 for 20 minutes or $1,250 for an hour with Alex Karl, and a single headshot $200 with Svetlana Leone or $290 at Eric Campbell’s studio; Thumbtack’s national average for portrait photography is $277. The event and club photographers all quote per job. For how a gala, office or club shoot with Mark works, see our Palm Beach Gardens photographer page; for video, our Palm Beach Gardens videographers.

In a Palm Beach County park, yes, if a photographer is being paid: the county’s daily photography permit is $50 plus tax for one session of up to three hours, the annual one $150 plus tax, and it takes five business days. Photos for ads or magazines go through the county film commission instead. Frenchman’s Forest Natural Area is run by the county’s Environmental Resources Management department, and City of Palm Beach Gardens parks by the City; neither page we read covers portrait sessions, so ask them first.
