The Short Answer: What 3D Animation Costs
3D animation costs about $5,000 to $50,000+ per finished minute from a studio in 2026, and a 60-second business video usually lands between $10,000 and $25,000, according to Vidico's 2026 animation cost guide. Per second, that works out to roughly $83 at entry level and $333–$833 for cinematic work (Broadcast2World). On Fiverr, most page-one 3D product animation gigs start at $100–$500 for their smallest package.
Those are other companies' published prices, read October 22, 2026. Mark Studios quotes animation per project, so there's no Mark Studios price on this page. The spread looks absurd until you see what 3D adds. Before anything moves, every object has to be modelled, textured, rigged and lit, and then every frame has to be rendered. A 2D explainer skips most of that, which is why Broadcast2World starts entry-level 2D at $2,000 a minute and entry-level 3D at $5,000.

3D Animation Prices in 2026, by Route
| Route | Published price | What it usually covers | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fiverr gig | 21 of 24 page-one gigs start at $100–$500 (median $190) | The gig's smallest package; check its length, revisions and whether modelling is included | Fiverr, 27,283 services listed |
| Freelance 3D animator | From about $5,000 per minute | Lower cost and flexible terms; agencies add script, voiceover and project management | Broadcast2World |
| Entry-level studio 3D | $5,000–$15,000 per minute | Simple models, basic textures and lighting, minimal environments | Vidico, Broadcast2World |
| Mid-tier studio 3D | $10,000–$30,000 per minute | Product demos and stylised work with custom models and professional lighting | Broadcast2World ($10,000 and up), Vidico ($15,000–$30,000) |
| Professional animation studio | $15,000–$40,000+ per minute | Every object modelled, textured, lit, animated and rendered; detailed environments and simulations add time | Yum Yum Videos |
| High-end cinematic CGI | $20,000–$50,000+ per minute; photoreal work can reach six figures | Film-quality modelling, texturing, rigging, lighting and rendering | Broadcast2World, Vidico |

Read the table with two caveats. Every studio figure comes from a company that sells animation, so treat it as that studio's read of the market, not a survey. And "per minute" hides the fixed costs. Broadcast2World notes that a 5-second clip still needs a full script, storyboard and asset pass, so it won't cost one-twelfth of a 60-second rate.
A Fiverr starting price is a floor of the same kind. Beverly Boy warns that an inexperienced freelancer may come in "significantly less than $1,000 per minute," but the odds of a well-produced video are low. Its rule of thumb for 60 seconds of business 3D is $7,500–$10,000 in many cases. Feature films show where the ceiling is: Beverly Boy puts Frozen at $24,510 per second of animation.
What 3D Animation Costs by Length
Length moves the total, but not in a straight line. These are Vidico's ranges for 3D:
| Finished length | 3D animation cost |
|---|---|
| 30 seconds | $5,000–$15,000 |
| 60 seconds | $10,000–$25,000 |
| 2 minutes | $15,000–$40,000 |
| 5 minutes or more | $30,000–$100,000+ |

A 2-minute piece costs 10 to 20% less per minute than a 60-second one, Vidico says, because character assets and backgrounds carry over between scenes. The same logic runs the other way for very short pieces: a 15-second product loop still needs its model built, so it costs more per second than a longer piece. If you need several short ads, scope them as one project that shares one set of models.
What Moves a 3D Animation Quote

- The model. Every object has to be built before it can move. Yum Yum Videos gives modelling, texturing, lighting, animating and rendering as the reason 3D costs more than other styles. If a CAD file or 3D model of your product already exists, send it, because a model that exists doesn't have to be rebuilt from photos.
- Characters. A product turning on a pedestal needs one model and a camera move. A person walking across a room needs a designed, modelled and rigged character, and Beverly Boy notes that each extra character adds to the cost per minute.
- Realism and rendering. Photoreal materials, reflections and simulations take hours of computer time for seconds of footage. Vidico adds 30 to 60% for 3D rendering time, and 20 to 40% for 4K over 1080p.
- Schedule. Broadcast2World says a 3D product demo can take 8 weeks to 3 months or more, against 2 to 8 weeks for a one-minute 2D explainer.
- Labour. The people are specialists. Vidico, citing the Bureau of Labor Statistics, puts the US median pay for special effects artists and animators at $102,030 a year (May 2025).
When 3D Is Worth the Price
Yum Yum Videos' test is a good one. 3D earns its cost when you need to show a product from every angle, reveal the parts inside it, or explain a physical process that would be hard to film. If the product looks good on camera, filming it may cost less; check what product video costs before you commit.
A software explainer rarely needs a third dimension. A 2D animated explainer or motion graphics can tell the same story for a fraction of the price. Medical device and mechanism-of-action work is its own market, covered in medical animation cost.
Before You Ask for a 3D Quote: A 6-Point Checklist
- Name the job. Product turntable, exploded view, logo reveal, explainer scene or character piece. Each one prices differently.
- Fix the finished length. Give the seconds you need, plus any cutdowns.
- Send what already exists. CAD files or 3D models, product photos from every side, logo vectors and brand colours.
- Pick the realism level. Share two or three reference clips, stylised and clean or photoreal.
- List the deliverables. Aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1), 1080p or 4K, loops, and whether you need the project files.
- Ask what the price includes. Script, storyboard, voiceover, music, revision rounds and render resolution, in writing, so two quotes compare line for line.
Where Mark Studios Fits
Mark makes 3D product and logo animation alongside animated explainers, 2D character animation and animated ads, and he scopes each project himself before quoting it. If you sell online, video for e-commerce brands covers the product filming and ad editing that go with an animated product shot. Motion graphics came up in 50 of 698 first messages from buyers in our inbox. We've delivered 10,000+ projects for 4,500+ clients across 8,000+ orders, with a 4.9★ average and 100M+ views generated. If you're weighing a specialist studio, our Yum Yum Videos review covers that studio's pricing and the alternative.
The Bottom Line
3D animation costs about $5,000 to $50,000+ per finished minute from a studio in 2026, and roughly $10,000–$25,000 for a 60-second business video. The price follows the modelling, the characters and the rendering, not the seconds. Use 3D when depth explains something that filming or 2D can't, send your models and references up front, and ask every studio what its price includes.
