How Much Does Social Media Video Production Cost in 2026? UGC, Crews and Monthly Packages

The Short Answer: Social Media Video Production Cost

Social media video production costs $25 a video to $15,000+ a month in 2026, depending on who films it. UGC creators start at $25 a video plus a platform fee (JoinBrands). A videographer booked by the hour costs $179 for the first hour plus 15% (Snappr). A filmed monthly package runs $890 a month for three 15-second videos (BLARE Media), and an enterprise creative team starts at $15,000 a month (Superside).

Those are market prices, not ours. Mark Studios quotes each content day before work starts, and our plan prices are on our pricing page. Every figure here links to the page that published it, checked October 15, 2026.

Why budget for it at all: short video is where the attention is. Meta said Reels made up 50% of the time spent on Instagram in April 2024, and YouTube says Shorts average over 200 billion daily views. Our short-form video statistics page has both figures with their caveats. A feed needs new clips every week, so the useful number is what a month costs, not one video.

Who Films Sets the Price

Who films sets the price of social media video: creators filming UGC on their own phones at $25–$92 a video, a production crew filming at your business at $890 a month for three videos, or you filming and paying for editing only.
Who films sets the price of social media video: creators filming UGC on their own phones at $25–$92 a video, a production crew filming at your business at $890 a month for three videos, or you filming and paying for editing only.

Creators film. UGC is the cheapest per video because the creator brings the phone, the face and the setting. It works for product posts and ad testing. It doesn't work when the video has to show your space, your staff or your service, because the creator isn't there.

A crew films. You pay for the shoot, then divide it across the posts it produces. BLARE Media's $890 package works out to about $297 per 15-second video with the shoot included, and Snappr's two-hour booking comes to about $344 with its fee, before anyone edits the footage. Restaurants, salons, clinics and local shops usually land here, because the place is the product. Our restaurant video production page shows what that looks like for food businesses.

You film. The cheapest route when someone on staff is comfortable on camera. You pay only for editing, and the editor's skill decides whether the clips hold attention. Our cross-platform playbook for TikTok, Reels and Shorts covers what each platform rewards.

What Moves the Price

  1. Who films, and where. A creator's phone, a videographer by the hour or a crew on site. Travel outside a company's service area can cost extra.
  2. Videos per shoot. BLARE Media budgets three 15-second videos per half-day (4-hour) shoot and asks for a script or shot list for each. A planned shot list gets more posts out of the same hours.
  3. Commitment. BLARE Media requires 3 months and Superside an annual term. Insense's Brand plan renews every three months. JoinBrands has a pay-as-you-go option, and Trend's credits last 12 months.
  4. Platform fees. Fiverr adds 5.5%, JoinBrands 8–15%, Snappr 15% and Insense 7–20% on top of the creator or videographer's price.
  5. Usage rights. Organic posting and paid ads are different licenses. Trend's packages include full licensing for social, websites and more; ask everyone else in writing, especially before running a video as a paid ad.
  6. Revisions and captions. BLARE Media includes one round of revisions per video. Animated captions, extra aspect ratios and hooks tested against each other all add editing time.

How to Get an Accurate Quote

Send these with your first message and every quote back will price the same job:

  1. Where you post and how often: for example, three Reels and three TikToks a week.
  2. Who appears on camera: you, staff, customers, or a creator you hire.
  3. Where it's filmed: the address, and how many locations in one day.
  4. What you already have: a shot list, scripts, brand fonts, product shots, raw clips.
  5. How the videos will be used: organic posts only, or paid ads too.
  6. Captions and formats: the caption style you like and the aspect ratios (9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts; 1:1 or 4:5 for the feed).

The Bottom Line

Social media video costs $25–$92 a video when creators film it, $179 an hour and up for a videographer, about $890 a month for a filmed package of three videos, and $15,000 a month and up for an enterprise creative team. Decide who films first, because that sets the price more than length does. Then price a month of posts, not one video.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a 15-second social media video cost?

About $297 when a crew films it as part of a package. BLARE Media charges $890 a month for three 15-second videos from one half-day shoot, on a 3-month commitment. UGC creators charge less per video, $25 to about $92 on JoinBrands and Trend, because they film themselves. Editing a clip you filmed yourself costs less again, since there is no shoot to pay for.

Is UGC cheaper than hiring a videographer?

Yes, per video. UGC videos start at $25 each plus a 15% platform fee on JoinBrands, and Trend's starter pack is $550 for up to six. A videographer booked on Snappr costs $179 for the first hour plus a 15% fee, and the footage still needs editing. UGC suits product posts and ads; a videographer is needed when your location, staff or service has to appear on camera.

Do social media video packages require a contract?

Some do. BLARE Media's filmed packages need a 3-month commitment, Superside sells annual terms, and Insense's Brand plan renews every three months. JoinBrands has a free pay-as-you-go option with a 15% platform fee, and Trend sells prepaid credits that last 12 months. Read the cancellation terms and the renewal date before you sign anything that bills monthly.

How many social media videos can you get from one shoot?

It depends on the plan and on how long each post is. BLARE Media budgets three 15-second videos per half-day (4-hour) shoot, and Vidico says one shoot becomes 40+ assets across formats and cutdowns. A shot list agreed before the day, with each post's hook and location written down, is what turns one session into a month of content.

Does social media video production include posting to my accounts?

Usually not. Production companies and UGC platforms deliver finished video files, and captions, scheduling and posting are a separate social media management service. Ask whether a quote covers posting or only the videos sized for each platform. Mark Studios offers both: content days and edits, and month-to-month social media management that captions, schedules and posts them.

Who owns the rights to UGC videos?

The platform's license decides. Trend says its packages include full licensing and distribution rights for social, websites and more. On marketplaces, each creator's or seller's terms decide what you can do. Before you run a creator's video as a paid ad, confirm in writing that ads are covered, for how long, and whether you can use the creator's face and handle.

Rather not do this part yourself?

Mark Studios handles short-form video editing for creators and brands: you send the footage, the studio handles post.
