How Much Does a Videographer Cost in Palm Beach County in 2026? Hourly, Day and Package Rates

The Short Answer: Videographer Cost in Palm Beach County

Hiring a videographer in Palm Beach County costs about $500–$3,000 for a few hours of event coverage in 2026, $1,800–$4,600 for a short business video filmed and edited by a local studio, and $2,500–$7,500 for an interview shoot or a promotional video with a crew. Real estate walkthrough videos run about $200–$500. Camera operators bill roughly $95–$390 an hour.

Those are published local prices, not ours: Mark Studios quotes each shoot, so there is no Mark Studios price on this page. Every figure links to the studio or guide that published it, checked September 28, 2026. We film on location across Palm Beach, Broward and Martin counties, and it's a steady question in our inbox: across 698 first messages from buyers, 47 (7%) asked about on-site filming or photography.

For comparison, Thumbtack puts the national average for hiring a videographer at $900–$1,025, with most people paying around $961. Local event and interview prices sit above that because they include a crew, a full day or a finished edit.

Filming Only or Filmed and Edited?

Price rises with crew size: a solo shooter costs the least, a two-person crew adds a dedicated sound operator, and a full crew adds lighting and more cameras.
Price rises with crew size: a solo shooter costs the least, a two-person crew adds a dedicated sound operator, and a full crew adds lighting and more cameras.

The biggest trap in comparing local quotes is that half of them don't include editing. Beverly Boy's event and interview tiers deliver raw footage, and editing starts in its promotional tier. Vidico's national guide says the same about day rates: "Day rates cover filming only; editing is usually quoted on top". The same guide puts freelance day rates at $600–$1,200 for filming, with a half day at 60–75% of a full day.

So ask every videographer two questions: is the edit included, and who does it? A shoot that ends with a hard drive of raw clips still needs an editor. When the person who filmed also edits, the footage never has to be explained to someone new, which is why we film and edit in-house. If you'll post the footage in both horizontal and vertical formats, say so before the shoot. Our guide to framing one take for 16:9 and 9:16 shows why that has to be decided on set.

Crew size is the second multiplier. A solo shooter runs camera and sound together. A two-person crew adds a dedicated sound or second camera operator, which Beverly Boy prices at $1,000–$1,500 for an extra camera operator. A full crew adds lighting, a director of photography and more cameras.

Permits, Drones and the Winter Season

Four inputs move most Palm Beach County shoot quotes: how many hours the crew films, whether there's drone footage and a permit, the time of year, and whether editing is included.

  • Permits are free, insurance isn't. The Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission issues permits for public property such as parks, beaches and streets "at no cost to production". It asks for three business days and a $1 million general liability policy, which your videographer should already carry.
  • Drones add cost and lead time. Aerial footage is often a separate line: Beverly Boy lists drone footage at $1,000–$1,500, and Pelican Pix starts drone-only property video at $250. Drone filming on a county permit follows the FAA's Part 107 rule, and the Commission's drone page limits flights to daylight and twilight, with at least three business days to process.
  • Winter is high season. A West Palm Beach production guide notes that "winter is high season here: crews are busier, venues are in use, and cost rises accordingly". One South Florida studio says its heaviest West Palm work runs December through March, with gala-season calendars filling by October. Book early for anything between December and March.
  • Editing and deliverables. A raw-footage shoot and a finished, captioned video with vertical cutdowns are different purchases. If you need the edit, count every version up front. Our corporate video editing cost guide prices the editing side on its own.

How to Get an Accurate Local Quote

  1. Say what you're making: an event recap, interviews, a brand film, property video or social content.
  2. Give the date, the location and the hours you need a crew on site, including setup.
  3. Ask whether editing is included, and what you get back: raw clips, a finished video, or both.
  4. List every deliverable: lengths, horizontal and vertical versions, captions and photos.
  5. Flag drones, public locations and permits early, so there's time for the three-business-day permit window.
  6. Book early for December to March, when local calendars fill first.

Step 3 is where most local quotes differ. Across 698 first messages in our inbox, 55% already included a reference link or a "like this", and a reference video answers most style questions before anyone quotes. We've delivered 10,000+ projects for 4,500+ clients, rated 4.9 on average, and a clear date, deliverable list and reference is what makes a shoot quote hold.

The Bottom Line

A Palm Beach County videographer costs about $500–$3,000 for a few hours of event coverage, $1,800–$4,600 for a short filmed-and-edited business video, and $2,500–$7,500 for interviews or a promotional video with a crew. Check whether editing is included, then compare what each quote delivers, not the day rate.

Mark Studios is quote-based. For flexible projects, summer offers the best availability, with the highest weather risk.
