How to use these numbers

Compare what each price includes before you compare the price. Footage-only shoots hand you raw files to edit yourself; edited packages include the cut, music licensing and a set number of revision rounds. Day and half-day rates cover shoot time, and travel outside the company's area is usually extra. A monthly retainer usually costs less per video than one-off projects if you need new video every month. In Palm Beach County, our local videographer cost guide breaks down hourly and day rates. Already have footage? The video editing cost calculator prices the edit alone.

How much does video production cost?

Published prices read on October 15, 2026 put a 2–3 minute brand video at $490–$700 through a marketplace video producer (Thumbtack average), $1,200–$2,200 at a small studio, $3,500–$8,000 at a production company that scripts and edits it, and $5,000 and up at premium production companies. Testimonials run $750–$4,500, event coverage $900–$10,000 and wedding videos $999–$4,700.

What is the average cost of video production per minute?

Few companies price by the minute, because a shoot day costs much the same whether the edit runs 30 seconds or three minutes. The published packages show it: Zip In Media charges $1,800 for 45 seconds and $2,200 for one minute, and Mile 1 Media prices a 2–4 minute brand film at $3,500–$8,000. Budget by shoot time and number of finished videos, not by the minute.

Why is there such a wide range for the same type of video?

Crew size, shoot time and what you get back. A raw-footage event shoot from one operator (Beverly Boy, $1,800–$2,500) and an edited highlights package with social cuts (Mile 1 Media, $3,500–$7,000) are both called event coverage. Check whether a price includes editing, revision rounds, music licensing and travel before comparing.

Is a monthly video retainer cheaper than one-off videos?

Per video, often yes. Aqueous Films starts one-off projects around $4,000 but retainers at $2,000 a month, and Aktion Productions’ $6,500 a month plan includes two full shoot days. A retainer suits brands that need new video every month; one-off pricing suits a single launch or event.
