Video sizes for every platform

Each platform's own help or ads page, read on October 8, 2026. Several publish no recommended size for regular uploads, only a range of ratios or a maximum, so those rows give the limit, or the size Meta's ads guide recommends, instead of a guess.

How to calculate aspect ratio

Height = width × (ratio height ÷ ratio width). For 16:9 at 1,920 pixels wide, 1,920 × 9 ÷ 16 = 1,080. For 9:16 at 1,080 wide, 1,080 × 16 ÷ 9 = 1,920. To find the ratio of a frame you already have, divide both sides by their greatest common divisor: 1,080 × 1,350 divides by 270 to give 4:5.

Video encoders work in pairs of pixels, so keep both sides even: H.264 with standard 4:2:0 color won't accept an odd width or height. When you crop a 16:9 video to 9:16, plan the shot with the subject in the center third, because the vertical frame keeps only about a third of the width.
