How to use these numbers

Treat the range as a planning number, then check it: time your next two edits from import to export and compare. Multiply the hours by what an hour of your time is really worth, the work it pushes aside, and set that against a quote. Our time audit of a 10-minute video breaks the hours down by stage, and the video editing cost calculator shows what buying the same edits costs, by route.

Is it worth hiring a video editor?

Multiply the hours by what an hour of your time is worth and compare that with a quote. If the hours cost more than the edit, buying it back is cheaper. Our cost calculator shows market prices by format, and the Mark Studios instant quote gives you a written price for your own footage.
